Prop 36 addresses addiction and crime—two key drivers of homelessness in LA. By proposing stronger penalties for fentanyl trafficking and prioritizing treatment over jail time for repeat offenders, this measure offers hope for breaking the cycle.
Could this be a step toward solving the homelessness crisis?

Foster youth are among the most vulnerable in LA, and the County’s neglect is setting them up for homelessness. Many kids age out of the system with no support or safety net. Worse still, LA County doesn’t even track how many foster youth it’s responsible for.

This failure to collect critical data means countless young lives are left unsupported and invisible.
Let’s fight for real accountability to ensure every foster youth gets a fair chance.

LA County promised 3,000 treatment beds to help those struggling with addiction and mental illness. So far? Not even half have been delivered.

Meanwhile, over 50,000 people experiencing homelessness need critical mental health or addiction care, and fewer than 300 high-needs referrals were made last year.
Billions of taxpayer dollars are spent every year, but where’s the accountability? And why does LA County still have no data on how many homeless foster kids it’s responsible for?

It’s time to demand action.

📊 Want to know why homelessness keeps getting worse in LA? Check out these numbers:

📌 75,518 people experiencing homelessness in LA County.
📌 132% increase in unsheltered homelessness in the last decade.
📌 Over 50,000 need mental health and addiction treatment, but only hundreds of referrals have been made.
📌 Promised 3,000 new treatment beds- Delivered? We don’t know. LA County can’t even track how many treatment beds it has or needs.

This crisis didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of years of neglect and broken systems.

How can LA County solve homelessness when it doesn’t even know who it’s serving? 🤯

Data is the foundation for solutions—but LA County doesn’t track how many people experiencing homelessness it serves. Without this basic knowledge, how can leaders design policies, allocate resources, or measure impact?

Every year, the Point In Time (PIT) Count reveals staggering increases in homelessness:
Chronic homelessness: +236% (2014–2024).
Unsheltered homelessness: +132%.
Mental illness among the homeless: +74%.
Substance use disorders: +117%.
Yet these numbers are just the tip of the iceberg, worsened by the County’s lack of transparency.
Help us demand accountability for the lives being lost in the cracks.

💔 Los Angeles spends over $4 BILLION a year on homelessness—but where’s the accountability?
The City, County, and LAHSA have been accused of stalling or refusing to share the critical data we need to track what’s actually going on. Without transparency, we’re in the dark about whether our tax money is making a difference and how it's being used.

LA deserves better. Taxpayers deserve answers. And our unhoused neighbors deserve real solutions—not excuses.

We are fighting for transparency, more treatment beds, better services, and a long-term plan that works for everyone. We’re pushing LA County to deliver on its promises and make the changes necessary to provide shelter and support to Angelenos who need it most.
