For Briana, one of the things that made Project Jubilee special was the close-knit environment that helped participants build real relationships, feel supported, and prepare to thrive long after the program ended.

Now, after graduating from Project Jubilee, Briana is taking the next step in her journey as an apprentice with the Freedom Farms Collective. 🌱

Our next Project Jubilee cohort begins on June 16th! Applications are now open.

That moment you spot someone buying produce grown through your local food system is everything. 👀🥑

It’s more than a grocery purchase. It means local growers are reaching new markets, fresh food is staying in the community, and neighborhood stores are becoming stronger partners in expanding food access.

Through the Market Access Program, Partnership for Growth LA helps connect locally grown produce with community markets across South LA.

Please join us in welcoming our three newest apprentices: Jay, Eden, and Briana! 🎉🌱

All three completed the Nursery Management Track through Project Jubilee this spring and are now continuing their journey as apprentices with the Freedom Farms Collective.

Over the past several weeks they’ve developed hands-on skills in workforce development, Nursery management and urban farming, entrepreneurship, and community-centered food systems. They will be joining a first group of three apprentices in our Nursery Sales and Produce Distribution social enterprises. We’re excited to see them continue growing in this next chapter.

Project Jubilee is more than a training program. It’s a pathway to opportunity, mentorship, and continued employment.

Interested in taking the next step in your own career journey? Applications for upcoming Project Jubilee cohorts are now open.

“Even though we work with local farmers, we want to onboard as many as possible. To be able to work with such a great cohort of farmers is amazing—and it shows our customers how they can support the food system just by grocery shopping.”

For partners like With Love Market & Cafe, the Market Access Program is about more than sourcing. It’s about strengthening a connected, local food system that benefits farmers, businesses, and the community.

Through Partnership for Growth LA’s Market Access Program, we’re making it easier for local growers to reach new markets and for community partners to invest directly in fresh, locally grown food.

A huge thank you to the teams from United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Valero for joining us at The Growing Experience in Long Beach for a meaningful volunteer day, in partnership with Sowing Seeds of Change!

Facilitated by Partnership for Growth LA’s volunteer program, volunteers spent the day clearing Carmelito to help create space for fresh produce to grow.

By showing up in this way, volunteers play a direct role in sustaining community-driven agriculture and strengthening the local food system we’re building together.

Volunteering is more than a day of service—it’s about deepening the connections between people, place, and the food that nourishes us all.

Each month, we spotlight a powerful read that reflects our values. These stories inspire, educate, and connect us to our shared pursuit of growth, creativity, and community wellness. Whether it’s fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or memoir, these titles lift up voices and ideas that help move us forward.

This month’s book pick is The Rabbi and the Reverend: Joachim Prinz, Martin Luther King Jr., and Their Fight against Silence by Audrey Ades and Chiara Fedele. The Rabbi and the Reverend tells the story of two leaders from very different backgrounds who found common purpose in the fight for justice.

Rabbi Joachim Prinz, a refugee who had witnessed the dangers of silence in N**i Germany, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a central voice of the Civil Rights Movement, stood together at the March on Washington. Their shared message was clear: remaining silent in the face of injustice allows it to grow.

The book reminds readers that courage and moral clarity, across experiences, communities, and faiths, can help shape a more just and compassionate world.

A huge thank you to the team from United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Ernst & Young for joining us at Park Hills Community Church for a meaningful volunteer day!

Facilitated by Partnership for Growth LA’s volunteer program, this day brought partners together to support hands-on work in the garden, including prepping beds, planting seedlings, and helping the space continue to grow.

By showing up in this way, volunteers play a direct role in sustaining community-driven agriculture and strengthening the local food system we’re building together.

Volunteering is more than a day of service. It’s about deepening the connections between people, place, and the food that nourishes us all.

Over the past eight weeks, our most recent cohort of Project Jubilee has completed a transformative journey of growth, skill-building, and community.

Participants took part in life skills training and hands-on workforce development, choosing between two focus areas: Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAM-T) and Nursery Management Training.

From building emotional resilience and communication skills to repairing appliances and cultivating fresh produce, each Jubilant gained the practical tools, confidence, and technical knowledge needed to support long-term personal and professional success.

Congrats to all the Jubilants who showed up, did the work, and moved one step closer to stability, purpose, and possibility! We’re so proud of each graduating Jubilant and can’t wait to see where they go and what they achieve next.

Ready to gain skills and take the next step? Applications for our upcoming Project Jubilee cohorts are now open. Link in bio.
