Bambi (black male, 2.5 months) was rescued off the streets of Boyle Heights from the same address as Spike, Sparkle, Cannoli, BonBon, Lolli, Taffy, Fawn, and Doe. Georgia (white/tabby female, 1.5 months) was rescued off the streets of Lynwood, found crying behind a chain link fence next to a freeway barricade.

Bambi’s colony mates Doe & Fawn left yesterday morning for their foster (potentially to adopt!) - leaving him alone, but not for long! Georgia arrived for her intake vetting last night after her decompression solo fostering time with 🇲🇽 and we asked if we could join her with Bambi so they could keep each other company ☺️

They were cuddling within a few hours & are very intrigued by each other. Kittens really need the enrichment and mental/physical stimulation of another kitten or playful cat, which is why we don’t ever adopt young solo kittens into homes with no other cats. 🖤

Bambi & Georgia are avail for adoption as a pair or as singles to homes with another kitty needing a friend 👯‍♀️

Lynwood colony part 2 of 2

The next day a third teen sibling was secured by their feeder of the past year, 🐱 and brought to our high vol foster Karen Gorham ⓥ🤖 bc we couldn’t collect both of his siblings and not him! His name is Mr. Handsome and although Karen and MaiLei were so generous to open their space to him to get him off the streets he does need a foster still bc they are very full!

The remaining 2-3 adult cats at the location including the kittens’ mom will be TNR’ed as soon as we’re able to secure appointments and lend traps, grateful to killuhkat for being willing to apply for vouchers and transport to surgeries!

I’m writing this in the waiting room at our primary DVM getting Claude an exam and X-rays — he has a broken femur that’s already begun to heal, likely from a bad fall. For now the prognosis of the leg is decently okay and our assignment is to make sure he is walking and building strength. Paws crossed he won’t eventually need an amputation as we originally thought 🤞🏼

Their p**p art have earned them artist names - Claude’s Siamese sister is Magdalena & the brown tabby is Mona Lisa 🎨

Lynwood colony part 1 of 2 (I ran out of caption space)

Sunday afternoon about 1 hour after we had to say goodbye to our sweet Samantha at the ER, I received a video of an orange kitten about 4-5 weeks dragging both hind legs, outside in 100 degree weather on the streets of Lynwood. I happened to be heading south on the 5 at that exact moment and the next exit was the 710 so I detoured, hustled to get the exact address and arrived to location 7 mins later 😅
Upon arrival I saw 4 teens/adults lounging on the driveway & panting due to the heat. Our disabled orange guy was nowhere to be found after 30 min of digging through someone’s yard but I did discover 2 other kittens seemingly around his same age hiding from the brutal sun under a motorcycle cover. Their severe URI’s and sealed shut eyes worked to my advantage and although hissing & spitting I was able to nab both of them into my carrier. Took those 2 down to UPR HQ where we had a day planned that this now had bulldozed right over, as per usual. Donald and I cleaned up their eyes & gave some Capstar. Later on my return trip to Los Angeles I met back up at the Lynwood colony with the feeder and she was able to locate orange disabled guy and secured him in a box til I got there. Some of the orange teens were way too friendly and came running to my car and rubbing all over me so I tossed 1 into my trusty car carrier & 1 into my transfer trap and they came home with me too 🫠
The orange teens received new names, Candy Corn & Chester (hot fries fan here). Since arrival they have done nothing besides roll over on their backs for belly rubs and display gratitude for the air conditioning 🥹 I’m fully in love with them both. I do not have neuter appts available for them until November (our October surgeries are already completely full) but we do need a foster for them in the meantime — they do not need to be crated because they are both super outgoing.

We can’t wait to see you at our next adoption event… mini golf at BUSBY'S WEST on Tuesday September 29th!⛳️ come hang with us and meet some of our darling rescue cats & kittens: fully vetted, social, and now available for adoption. 🏡

Plus, while we’re there from 5-9pm, all sales from mini golf tickets will be donated to our organization, which focuses mainly on rescuing homeless cats directly off the streets and preventing shelter impounds. We couldn’t be more grateful and excited to be there! Thank you Busby’s for supporting our tiny but mighty community cat rescue. 🐈‍⬛

Update from the Boyle Heights address that we rescued Spike, Sparkle, Cannoli, Bon Bon, and the black twin kittens Lolli & Taffy from in December 2025.
We had assumed we had the whole family: Spike & Sparkle - the parents & Cannoli, Bon Bon, Lolli, Taffy - the children. Boy were we wrong. This past Thursday we received a message from the same rescuers who secured all of those cats last year that there were somehow now a whole NEW family of Spike/Sparkle relatives that they had never seen before 🤯😭 it appears they’ve been living in the crawl space under the property. Sadly we have been informed the homeowners have been deported and a relative is looking after the house 💔 so possibly now they are emerging in search of meals.
There are 3 more adult white/gray, one which is currently pregnant, and 3 white/gray kids, 1 black kitten that’s younger than the white family, a few other random unmatching kittens, a gray teen, black kitten’s momma, and a handful of Siamese adults.
Right now Homeless baby cats in LA is on the ground this morning trapping there with nidiamelix and Veronica Molina Contreras as we agreed last week we would make space for all of the kittens if the adults were able to be TNR’ed by them (this is not nearby us). The black kitten’s mom was TNR’ed last week thanks to Homeless baby cats in LA Santé D'Or Foundation. Black kitten was seen crossing street on its own so was high prio & secured last night thanks to Nidia & Veronica 🙏🏽 One white kitten has already been trapped this morning, traps are still out for the rest.🤞🏼

Spike and Cannoli are somehow STILL available for adoption 9 months after their intake, and now we have so many more of their relatives coming in 😩
Please! we need fosters for the 3 white kittens + 1 black, potentially an additional 2 kittens but those are MIA this morning. 🙏🏽

Meet our 5 newest mom+kids from the streets of Silverlake. Mom was found outside very affectionate and very pregnant on 7/31. Her finder and savior Charlotte Herrold took her inside and began networking for help 🙏🏽 Soonest spay appt we could find was in 2 days on 8/2. Well at 4am that day she went into labor and delivered 5 babies 😩

Thanks to Charlotte Herrold and Joshua Tucker for taking such good care of them! They are now 6 weeks old & today came over for their intake vetting. They received FVRCP 1 of 3, dewormer 1 of 2, flea treatment, weights, sexes, and were officially rostered.

One little fatty is still nursing but the rest have figured out how food works. Mom is scheduled for her spay on 9/22. We will need a new foster for Princess (mom) + another foster for the 5 kittens beginning 9/29 when their foster mom leaves town.🙏🏽

At the end of July we received a request for TNR help in Hollywood where there was a mom, sometimes a dad (unfixed tom so he roams), 3 older kittens, and a brand new batch of kittens that had been born 1 week prior. I happened to pass by this address on one of my nightly walks & called the feeder to see if I could come suss out the location & situation. She ran downstairs to let me in & with tears in her eyes explained that she had been contacting organizations for months yet not getting any replies to help. With no car or knowledge of resources she felt helpless and just continued feeding them, but she was upset that mom had given birth again because obviously the situation was getting out of control.

Mom was still nursing and her temperament was semi feral at best, so we first went to work on scheduling appointments for the three older kittens who were consistently there and were of babymaking age already. 2 girls and 1 boy. They were successfully fixed and released a couple weeks ago. Today the younger kittens turned 6 weeks old— the age we had planned to rescue them at. Because their feeders had worked so hard at socializing them, they were easy to grab and secure 🎉 Mom has an appointment later this month for her spay - she is likely already pregnant again, but she is not currently showing. If dad is able to be caught he’ll be fixed and released as well.

One of their feeders, Daphne Sway, is kind enough to foster 3 of the kittens & we are looking for a foster for the other 2, they are currently staying with me but I will need that crate for mama Ursula tomorrow and for our 5 s/n surgeries this Tuesday 😬

Persephone marks our very first international adoption! ✈️

She was rescued January 31 2025 from the streets of Watts with a severe case of mange (see last 2 slides). We spent several months healing her skin & stabilizing her. Over the course of the next 1.5 years she had a total of 5 foster homes but for some reason she never had adoption interest despite being playful, friendly to other cats, snuggly, beautiful, and imo perfect. 😩

She did great on the plane to Canada, chauffeured & coordinated by the lovely Laura Brown 🙏🏽 and connected to us through The Crystal Tabby who we are eternally grateful to be partnered with ❤️‍🔥

Her new mama says that she is already in love with her & that she’s been a total dream so far - so affectionate and sweet. We are so thankful to Jenn for giving her the family & stability we know she’s always dreamed of 🥹

🧡 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: KNICKKNACK 🧡

This nearly 6 month old lady was part of a 3 pack of kittens intercepted on June 4 in the San Bernardino Shelter parking lot when someone happened to be there adopting a pup. An elderly woman brought in 3 kittens she had found, but the shelter refused intake, as per usual. Our dog-adopting hero Merci Martinez witnessed the situation, took the kittens home no questions asked, with no cat supplies prepared, put them up in her bathroom, and began networking for a rescue for them. These kittens owe their lives to her. We love to see the public stepping up to bat point blank and figuring it out as they go 👏🏼 so of course we were excited to help her out and get them under the rescue!

Trinket & Tchotchke have both been adopted into wonderful loving homes with other cats; Knickknack is the last remaining kitten in need of a forever family. Sharing this post might lead to her human finding her! 🙏🏽

Knickknack is a fearless adventurer 🦸🏻‍♀️ always looking for the next toy to chase or the highest spot in the room to explore. She’s playful, social, confident, and curious, but also incredibly sweet and affectionate. She loves cuddling with her siblings and will happily ask for more pets when attention stops. Knickknack loves people and will rise from her nap to come greet you as you walk in the room. 🥺 She loves getting pet so much that she will start purring before you even pet her to signal that she would like some - then once you start petting her she purrs like an engine and melts into pure bliss!
Knickknack is a wonderful mix of a lap cat and an energetic little hunter in her own world. If you’re looking for a daily laugh, this comedian cat tries to fight her reflection in the mirror. She is so happy and grateful with any toy she gets and will invite other kittens to come play with her. She definitely needs another playful kitten to grow up with! She loves calm dogs & is great with kids.

This ancient toothless calico lady got a second chance at life today thanks to her colony feeder. She showed up for the first time at a large and dangerous park in Los Angeles (keeping the park private for the safety of other community kitties there) back in June, and the daily colony feeder stated that she seemed possibly feeder friendly and would approach for food but wouldn’t let her touch.

With the recent heat wave she was lateral today and really struggling 🥵 her feeder, who said she had great amounts of anxiety about this cat in particular getting the help she needed and hadn’t been able to sleep bc of it, reached out via our website this morning to explain the situation and offered to foster her if we could back her up. We were on a phone call within 20 mins and within a couple of hours she went to the park and threw her into a carrier- she protested minimally with a hiss. Upon arrival I observed a URI, eartip, no microchip, no teeth, and a very unkempt coat (often the sign of a stray struggling to survive outside). We did subcutaneous fluids and b12 as well as some flea treatment and dewormer. She will be kept crated at her foster home & once stabilized we’ll send her to our vet for a senior blood panel & fiv/felv test. She was not totally unresponsive to being pet and even purred a bit while we stroked her head during fluids administration — I wondered aloud when was the last time anyone’s ever pet her, seems possible she was owned many years ago 🥺

Without a foster offer we are not currently able to help as we are beyond full. Thank you to all of our foster families, without you we wouldn’t be able to do what we do! ❤️‍🔥
