Mothering diaspora is carrying love across oceans, preserving culture through memory, and planting seeds of resilience for the next generation.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the Filipina women who held families together through sacrifice, faith, tenderness, and unwavering strength. The mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and caregivers who carried stories, traditions, dreams, and hope—even far from home.

May we continue to remember where we come from, while creating futures rooted in compassion, community, and collective care. 🤍

We’d love to hear your story. 🤍
What did your mother, grandmother, or the women who raised you carry for your family and future?

Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AANHPI) — a time to honor the history, resilience, and vibrant contributions of AANHPI communities across the country. From the earliest waves of immigration to today’s changemakers and culture-shapers, AANHPI heritage is woven into the fabric of American life. This month, we celebrate that legacy by coming together, uplifting our communities, and making space for the stories, flavors, and voices that make us who we are.

A time to recognize and uplift our experiences and histories as AAPI individuals and community; to acknowledge and address the ongoing struggles and challenges we’ve faced. A reminder of the importance of actively fighting against racism, xenophobia, and discrimination in all forms, and advocating for equity and justice for all.

There’s so much happening this month across our community — and we want to help spread the word. If your organization is hosting an AANHPI Heritage Month event, share it with us! 👇🏾

Got 30 seconds? Find the Flavors! 🥳

How many did you find? 🍨🍱🧉🍤

Drop your number below 👇🏽

These aren’t just words in a puzzle.

They’re the flavors that show up in our everyday lives…
at family tables, at celebrations, in the quiet moments when someone asks, “kumain ka na ba?” or “Have you eaten?”

From ube to pancit, each one food carries something familiar, something shared, something passed on from generation to generation. 🙏🏽

This is just a small glimpse.

Something is coming to Historic Filipinotown…
where these flavors are not only remembered, but experienced together!

HiFi Jeepney Tour is coming… 👀
Come through with your FAM!

We are change makers.
We are mamas.
We are teachers.
We are visionaries.
We are activist.
We are innovators.
We are artists.
We are healers.
We are culture shaper
We are bridge-builders

In every tradition, every prayer, every story—we carry them forward. A tapestry of cultures, held together by the hands of our ancestors and woven brighter for the generations to come.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on 8 March, commemorating women’s fight for equality and liberation along with the women’s rights movement. International Women’s Day gives focus to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

Today we celebrate the women who came before us and the ones rising now. Tag a sister, friend, or mentor who deserves flowers today. 🌸

Many in our Filipino and immigrant communities have been carrying a lot quietly.
Lately, many of us have been feeling it.
Not always in loud ways, but quietly.
We feel it in our bodies, hear it in our conversations, and in the pauses in between our routines.

You are not alone in that feeling.
You do not have to know everything today.
You do not have to face this alone.

We will be here. Sitting together. Learning together.

Join SIPA and Rising Filipinas for a community-centered immigration resource event rooted in care, shared humanity, and belonging. This is a space to receive trusted information without fear, where preparation feels like care and community feels like home.

We are honored to welcome Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAAJ), who will share Know Your Rights information related to immigration and ICE encounters, helping families understand their constitutional rights and how to prepare with dignity.

RSVP through Eventbrite to save your spot and help us prepare to welcome you.

This isn’t an end-of-year recap.

It’s a lived experience.

We gathered in moments of uncertainty and care.
We stood beside one another through grief, learning, joy, and rebuilding.

When our community needed holding, we held each other.
Kapwa reminds us that none of us rises alone.

Your story is tied to mine.

Our healing is shared.

This year asked a lot of our Filipina and AAPI community in Los Angeles and beyond. And still, we showed up with tenderness, courage, and love. Sometimes quietly.

Sometimes bravely. Always together.

As we move forward, our commitment deepens.
To serve with intention.

To protect space for belonging.

To keep choosing community, even when it’s hard.
We are Kapwa.

And we will continue to rise, together.
