The Vietnamese people in the Central Region have been suffering from damages brought by storms, severe flooding, and landslide in the past month. Over 100 were killed. Growing up, I always heard news of flooding in the Central Region. The people there don't have much to begin with but this year's flooding has been one of the worsts. And this is just the beginning.

We hope these photos of cute little angels from Sơn Bua Primary and Junior High School of Mount Son Tra will brighten up your day! On September 14th 2020, the Golden Hearts joined the local Red Cross to distribute 268 sets of notebooks, clothes, lunch boxes, back packs, slippers, and other school supplies to the underserved children of Đức Phổ borough, Quang Ngai, Central Vietnam. Each set has a value of 300,000 VND ($13.00 USD).

💝Golden Heart members! Your contributions alone provided a total of 1,070 notebooks, 1,000 pens, 528 pencils, 270 rulers, 279 erasers, 270 pencil sharpeners, clothes, and boxes of noodles and cookies. That is very impressive!
💝Also many thanks to our wonderful member Minh Hiếu for helping us connect with the local Red Cross and delivering the donated items.

Dear Golden Hearts,

On behalf of the less fortunate families at Dak Lak Province - Vietnam, thank you very much for your kindness and contribution. Our volunteers distributed rice, soy sauce, and instant noodles to 40 families. We also gave out milk and pastries to handicapped children. It has changed a life. You made a difference!

Ms. Đỗ is a 94-year-old elderly woman with disability. She is also a single mom of her 53-year-old son with a mental illness disorder. During our visit to Ms. Đỗ's home, she shared: "my son doesn't recognize who I am or who he is. Every day he acts and plays like a 3 year-old-boy and often runs off into the village. When that happens, I have to look all over the place for him and bring him home. Just like any good mother will do for her child, I'd do anything for him. However, my physical body is failing me each day... I'm at a loss as what will happen tomorrow...?"

Ms. Ly is a 70-year-old elderly woman who has been taking cared of her 48-year-old son with a down syndrome condition since birth. She has been raising him alone with no source of help or assistance from the family. She grows her own vegetables to feed her son and herself for the past 48 years. However, with a declining in health due to old age, her biggest fear is that no one will take cared of her disabled child after she passes...
During our visit, Ms. Ly, looked at his son with sorrow and said: "Who will feed my son? Who will change him? Who will give him his medication..?"
