Houston The GDA Pup Hi my name is Houston-
I'm a Lab puppy in training for Guide dogs of America/Tender Loving Canines. I’m being raised by Nicole Burke & Sean Logal.

Thank you to Marsha’s Therapy Dogs for sponsoring my puppy Journey.

Hey everyone, it’s Houston! 🐾 I’m loving weekends with my hoomans—especially when they end with a sunset like this. 🌅

Hi, it’s Houston—a GDA/TLC 7 month-old lab puppy in training—and it’s National Service Dog Awareness Month! 🐾

I’m studying hard every day so I can grow up to become an autism service dog, a service dog for a veteran with PTSD, or perhaps a facility dog. I’ll remain in puppy raising until I’m about 17–18 months old, then head off to “college” for my final training before graduation and placement.

Even on ordinary days, I’m learning something new. Whether I’m settling calmly at the doctor’s office, saying hello—politely!—at Pickle Ball, practicing my best “settle” at the mall, or joining my hoomans at their favorite breakfast spot, every outing helps me build the focus and confidence I’ll need for the job ahead.
Every car ride, elevator ride, noisy hallway, and unfamiliar floor texture is practice for the real world. One day, all this learning may help me support an autistic child, assist a veteran, or brighten a facility with steady, gentle companionship and rock-solid manners.
Until then, I’m proud to be a working puppy—nose up, heart open, and ready for my next adventure. 🐶💙
