👋🏻 As we head back to the classroom, we would like to take a moment to introduce two new members of our faculty: Meet Danny and Sydney!
Danny O'Connell enjoys an active career teaching, performing, and recording music. Danny has performed as principal cellist with the California Young Artist Symphony, San Gabriel Valley Symphony, Dream Orchestra, and USC Symphony. Besides orchestra, Danny is also the founding cellist and performs regularly with his string quartet, Quartet Aido. As a teacher, Danny has reached communities through his work with USC’s Thornton Community Engagement Program, and Neighborhood Music School in Boyle Heights. Danny recently graduated in May 2026 with his Master’s Degree at the University of Southern California studying with Andrew Shulman.
Sydney Moss Pérez is a cellist and music educator hailing from Southern California. She earned her Bachelors of Music and Master of Music in Music Performance from The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music under the study of Los Angeles Philharmonic cellist Dr. David Garrett. Sydney has been a passionate music educator for ten years, coaching cello ensembles, orchestras, and teaching music theory and musicianship. Sydney believes that music education is an essential tool to empower students to discover their own sense of self expression.
