Happy Mother's Day. 💛

These kids in this reel? Star students. Kind humans. Happy, loved — and the living proof that when you fight for equality, the next generation gets to just be kids.

That's what Imagine Equality was built for.

In 1988 — the year our founder Lea Wiviott Boracchia was born — a woman in the United States still needed a man's signature to take out a business loan. Her mother had her MBA — the highest level of business education you can earn. She built the #1 best-selling vase company in Europe. Extraordinary by every measure. And she still needed a man's signature. Then she got divorced — alone, in a system that had only just begun to see her as a full person.

That's not ancient history. That's the origin story of why this nonprofit exists.

Lea went on to become a Forbes-recognized founder — recognized for pioneering AI technology in real estate investment before it was mainstream. Recognized by Best in Real Estate Magazine. The first woman to independently found both a registered investment advisory firm and a California real estate brokerage without franchise affiliation. She built every credential, every company, every door she walked through — because her mother handed her the belief that she could, even when the system said otherwise.

Imagine Equality exists because that story should not still be rare in 2025. Equal rights aren't optional. For women. For the Jewish community. For anyone whose dignity has ever been treated as a debate.

Not every week is meant for celebration. And this one wasn't.
I was supposed to be back in my hometown this week, San Francisco — facing off against the biggest evil in my industry. The kind of fight that doesn't make the highlight reel but defines everything about who you are.

Years ago, one of the most high-profile companies in the world wanted me as their Head of Ethics. Lucrative. Safe. Someone else's story.

I said no.

Because I needed autonomy without false promises. As a Jewish activist, a board member, a founder raising a family — I needed to be able to fight without asking permission. I didn't leave the highest concentration of billionaires because wealth doesn't matter. I left because a life with autonomy and free of abuse matters more.

Behind the scenes this week there were challenges, growth, and moments that tested everything.
But there was also gratitude.

Our family is strong. Our businesses are in a powerful place. And after everything — the fights, the betrayals, the moments nobody saw — we are exactly where we need to be.

To anyone going through it right now — we see you. We've been there. And we'll keep showing up, mentoring, and giving back the way we once needed.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of equality, compassion, and dignity for all. His work reminds us that progress is ongoing—and often requires patience, persistence, and courage.

We are deeply grateful that the hostages have been released, and we are profoundly saddened by the lives lost to reach this point. The pain is unimaginable for so many, and the relief of freedom for those released alive could not have happened without the dedication of our current administration and the many relentless, hard-working people who refused to stop fighting for what is right. Their tireless efforts give us hope for the long road ahead, and remind us what is possible when we stand together.

Imagine Equality is apolitical, but part of our work is acknowledging when credit is due. We remain committed to shattering stereotypes and ensuring that the real information is heard.

You may have noticed less of our work recently. Please know the work is far from over—it is simply continuing at a pace that allows us to honor our commitments and care for our team. Equality and human dignity require long-term dedication. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and we’re committed to running it with intention and strength.
