MPWWA is an independent non-profit, non-sectarian organization. Membership is open to persons who have lost their spouse through death. If the person was married more than once, the most recent marriage must have ended in the death of the spouse. ngs are held every Tuesday evening (unless it falls on a holiday) in the Social Hall at Los Altos Lutheran Church which we rent for our meetings. They are held from 7:30 to 9:00PM. We often have a speaker or entertainment after the half hour meeting. Dues are $50.00 annually and are prorated for those who join late in the year. They are due February 1st. We have many activities in addition to the weekly meetings. We have a golf group, a bowling group, card groups, book clubs, Bunco groups, walk, hikes, dining out and parties in members' homes. We sometimes do trips by bus to San Francisco for a play and dinner. Some events do have a fee involved. There is a First Year Club for new members in their first year with the group. They have a pot luck party once a month at a private home. It is a good way to meet the other new people and find out more about the organization. Grief is a universal human experience and can be easier when shared with others who understand. It is an opportunity to grow emotionally and make enduring friendships. A great many people have been helped by this very special group since its inception.
