Library My excitement over the completion of the new library is beyond containment. To see the teachers and students embrace this new resource is totally exhilarating! Right away, one of our high school teachers brought his class to the library to read and then have discussion about what they read.…

What we at Books for Haiti are hoping for, for these and all of Haiti's children. Congratulations on getting this wonderful space up and running!

If we can get kids interested in the library, it will cut down on "idle hands" time - alleviating poor behavior while encouraging a forever learning behavior. Hmmmmmm...

Interesting perspective from Dominica on use of tablets in schools. It's a tough decision for schools and organizations like ours - "better" technology, or strictly educational devices? Of course, if you love reading as much as WE do, a simple reader can be the gateway to the universe!

President of the Dominica Association of Teachers (DAT) and Principal of the Community High School, Celia Nicholas, has raised concerns over the ‘one table per child program’ stating that although she welcomes the initiative, her biggest fear is allowi ...

Our friends from Mission of Hope International played an integral part in last weekend's Soulfest, held at Loon Mountain, here in NH! We hope to see them in Haiti in November. Great work, Reneé, Lex and your extensive team!

Soulfest 2015 was an incredible time, not only for us at MOHI, but for about 10,000 others who participated! I am grateful for 3 days of really beautiful weather, amazing volunteers and for the hundreds who came to meet us for the first time. Soulfest is a Christian music festival, held each summ…

As this Summer closes out, Bob and I are planning a final (?) trip to Haiti to deliver Kindles to Healing Haiti's Grace Village school. The trip will also include update visits to Mission of Hope International and to the SOPUDEP school, to assess the success of this project to date.

All of our partner schools have evolved tremendously over the past two years; it will be exciting to see their progress!

Despite family changes and commitments, the Ende/Reid family organization is still trying to complete our projects in Haiti. If you are able to assist with the funding for a Kindle or two (or part of one!) we will be able to move toward this goal more quickly. The schools are still in need, and still interested in pursuing this wonderful technology so that they have access to free French and English literature. Thanks for your continued interest in Books for Haiti!

This, from the dedicated folk at Healing Haiti - a great view of the completed library. So many people to make a Grace Village! The kids, and the community, are blessed to have them.
