First Born Program of Los Alamos

First Born Program of Los Alamos a nonprofit organization that provides free home visiting to parents and primary caregivers, prenatally until the child turns 5 years old

FBPLA provides free home visitation services to all families parenting in Los Alamos County. Services may be requested at any time during pregnancy, at the birth of the baby, or until the baby is two months of age, and continue until the child is three years of age (36 months), or until the family no longer requests program services. At the program’s core is the conviction that a healthy pregnancy

and a healthy baby are not only critical to the immediate well-being of mother and child but are also integral to the long-term health and success of the family and community. The program curricula provide a comprehensive set of topics that families learn as well as specific tools, activities, and educational materials that home visitors can use to address them. The flexible and inclusive curricula can be adapted to each family’s needs. For more information or to inquire about services, please email [email protected].

Reminder that Birth Talk is on Monday with a special topic this month!

There will be a special topic at Birth Talk on June 1.
We'll be talking about some realities and myths of giving birth in a rural, low-resource setting such as Los Alamos County.

Local midwife Dorothy Kaeck, LM, CPM and local neonatologist Dr. Lynda Amrani will join us.

Their mission is to help children grow in happy, healthy, nurturing homes while supporting parents and caregivers every step of the way.

Funds raised help provide immediate essentials for local families, including formula, diapers, hospital go bags, and family support resources.

Even if you don’t play co****le, come out and support an amazing cause. There will be food, drinks, games for the kids, casual co****le boards outside, and wonderful community!
