Troop 4673 was formed January 2014 but traces its lineage to Troop 683 which was formed in late-2005 and dissolved with the move to a new charter partner in 2014. The troop continues

to build on its heritage and reputation for performance excellence. Troop 4673 is "Scout-led" in both word and practice. Our purpose is to help Scouts become honorable men. To achieve this, Troop 4673 uses an active outdoor program that encourages youth leadership to build moral strength and character, foster citizenship and develop physical, mental, and emotional fitness. Program - the key to keeping boys in Scouting and delivering the promise. The Troop's annual program is developed by the Scouts themselves and includes monthly campouts and other special activities and service projects such as: Scouting for Food, Camporees, and other district and council events. Monthly campouts typically start with a departure on Friday evening at 5:30 and a return home Sunday morning or early afternoon, depending on the location of the campout. Summer camp in 2025 remains to be decided but past camps have included the Rodney Scout Reservation located on over 900 acres of rolling upland woodlands at the head of the Chesapeake Bay, which boasts of over a mile of prime Chesapeake Bay waterfront. Forecast high adventure activities in the years to come include Florida Sea Base, Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier, and the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve. Each spring the Troop holds a mulch sale to raise money to support our program. Each Scout and his parent(s) are expected to participate. All Scouts are expected to wear uniforms (shirt, pants/shorts, socks, and belt) to all events unless asked to do otherwise. If you are a WEBELOS and wish to bridge to Troop 4673, we'll make arrangements to attend your crossover ceremony and welcome you to the troop. There is a $15.00 membership fee for bridging WEBELOS. Servant leadership is central to fulfilling the mission of Scouting America, and new research reinforces just how powerful service can be in shaping young people.

A recent study from Gallup and the Allstate Foundation found that youth who participate in service and volunteer activities report significantly stronger outcomes in career readiness, community connection, and resilience.

Based on a national survey of more than 3,000 young people ages 12 to 25, the research found:

• 52 percent say service helped them feel more prepared for a future career
• 48 percent of youth who serve say they are confident they can achieve the career they want, compared with 33 percent who do not serve
• 79 percent report service helped them feel more connected to their community
• Two-thirds say they feel capable of handling whatever challenges come their way

Youth who spend more time serving report even greater confidence in leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

The findings highlight an important truth: service does more than help communities. It helps young people build the mindset, skills, and resilience they need to succeed in life. Programs that emphasize service and leadership are not just meaningful experiences. They are powerful tools for youth development.

☕️ From the Scouts of Troop 4673 — Thank You for Supporting Our Adventures! ☕️
Hi friends, family, and neighbors!
We’re the Scouts of Troop 4673, and we’re working together to raise $1,200 by April 30 to help pay for two of our biggest outings this year — a white water rafting trip 🚣‍♂️ and a cabin gaming weekend 🎮.
Instead of asking for donations, we chose something people actually enjoy: great coffee from Giving Bean! Parents who’ve already ordered say it’s really good, and there’s something for everyone — whole bean, ground, or K cups, with coffees from all over the world. Best of all, it ships anywhere in the U.S., so anyone can help support us ☕️🇺🇸.
When you buy coffee, you’re helping us learn responsibility, teamwork, and leadership — and you’re helping make these unforgettable experiences possible for us.
👉 Please check out our Giving Bean store here:

Thank you so much for supporting Troop 4673 — we truly appreciate every order and every share!
