The Friends of Loris Library would like to give a huge Thank You to Out of the Ark. The Animal Ambassadors for the Creepy Crawly Critters program were terrific, and our host Ryan was amazing with both animals and kids alike. Our Animal Ambassadors included Pawley the Raccoon, Annie the Curly-Haired Tarantula, Miles the Giant African Millipede, Sedona the Gila Monster, and Tilly the Burmese Python. This was a fun and educational program, with some astounding hands-on experience as brave volunteers got to hold Annie, Miles, and Tilly.

Our All Ages Storytime continues to explore the world! This past Tuesday was our first day visiting the continent of North America. Our first stop was to our northern neighbors in Canada. The kids enjoyed fun books about beavers - Canada's national animal. Canada is also known for ice hockey, and the kids enjoyed one story about a vampire joining his community hockey team. The book was perfect for our young hockey and Halloween fans alike. At the end of Storytime, our kids got to leave with their own little beaver. 🦫

Our All Ages Storytime continues to explore the world! Today was our last day visiting the continent of South America. Our last stop was the country of Colombia. The kids enjoyed fun books about the Santa Marta Parakeet, salsa music and dance, and gold (Colombia is said to be the home of the fabled El Dorado, the city of gold). For our craft, the kids got to create and take home their very own Santa Marta Parakeet! 🇨🇴
