Every community is held together by a handful of people who did the work nobody assigned them, who stayed when staying was the harder choice, and who taught the next generation without calling it teaching. Those stories are load-bearing. Take them away, and the place stops making sense. So, the West does what it has always done with anything worth keeping; it sets a place for it. Join the Tobosa Belles as we celebrate those who told their stories without even trying.
Celebrate the legends who shaped our community at the Hidalgo County Cowboy Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Join us on November 7, 2026, at 6 PM at the Lordsburg-Hidalgo County Museum for an evening of dinner, live music, and the official dedication of the Cowboy Hall of Fame Room as we honor three incredible inductees.
The Hidalgo County Cowboy Hall of Fame—located inside the Lordsburg-Hidalgo County Museum—exists to recognize and honor the local farmers, ranchers, and everyday legends who built, shaped, and sustained the agricultural and cowboy heritage of Hidalgo County.
The Cowboy Hall of Fame Room will officially be dedicated to Barbara Hoggett. Barbara was instrumental in starting the Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1999 and under Barbara’s leadership the Cowboy Hall of Fame continued for several years. It is with great honor that we dedicate the Cowboy Hall of Fame room, housed in the Lordsburg-Hidalgo Museum, to Barbara’s memory.
We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Cowboy Hall of Fame Inductees will be Barbara Hoggett, Rex Kipp Jr., Lance Williams, and Murray & Judy Keeler.
Each year, the committee recognizes a Hidalgo County business that has helped the livestock industry survive and thrive. The 2026 business that will be recognized for 2026 is the Valley Mercantile.
Tickets are limited and available at Animas Valley Mercantile, Western Bank, as well as the Tobosa Belles page. Tickets are $30 per person and $55 per couple; children 10 and under are free.
Don't miss this chance to honor the stories that define this community.
