The Lorain Sports Hall of Fame The Lorain Sports Hall of Fame, established in December 1969, honors the city’s rich athletic history. New inductees are named annually.

A new museum showcasing the achievements of local sports figures opened to the public on September 20, 2016. Opened Sept. 20, 2016, the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame honors those whose names are synonymous with all that is the best in Lorain athletic achievement. Their plaques and other Lorain sports memorabilia are displayed in the LSHOF Museum. The single most important factor for selecting those t

o be enshrined is that the general public nominates them. Nominations are accepted year-round; however, only those received by September 30th are eligible for that year’s screening committee detailed evaluation process. We are sure that many of your acquaintances would be eligible for the Hall of Fame; however, this will not happen until YOU, the public, submit their name and personal qualifications. The end result of this process is to establish a ballot for final election. The Hall of Fame Committee then votes in February to select the Class of Inductees that are enshrined at the annual Banquet in May.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We loved seeing so many friendly faces along the route, celebrating both our nation's heroes and the incredible community spirit that makes Lorain so special.

Hello LSHOF inductees

The LSHOF will be marching in this years Memorial Day Parade in Lorain on May 25. It would be great if a few of our inductees could march with us to pay homage for those who did not return home.

The parade starts at 11:00 AM and we are assembling at Black River Landing at 10:00 AM. The parade should only take 30-45 minutes. If any of our inductees are interested in joining us, please reach out to Brian Bastock at [email protected] for details.
