We are proud to share the youth su***de prevention video we worked on as part of our role with the Lorain County Su***de Prevention Coalition. Su***de is difficult to discuss, but discussing it, along with ways to help keep people safe during a mental health crisis, is critical. So many people and organizations (including members of our Youth Council) came together to work on this in different ways, and everyone had a positive experience despite it being about a sensitive subject. Thank you to everyone who was any part of this project.
We are also proud to announce that, courtesy of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, we have gun locks and cleaning mats available for free for our members. They can be found near the suggestion box in the canteen. Working to increase safety and prevent su***de is part of how we are serving Veterans, youth, and our community.
If you or anyone you know are in a crisis, please call or text 988 to contact the Su***de and Crisis Hotline. Veterans can dial 988 and then press 1 to be connected to the Veterans Crisis Line. You do not need to be enrolled in VA benefits or healthcare to call.
