We all know the stripes on the flag represent the 13 original colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the union. But did you know the colors of the flag are symbolic as well?
Red symbolizes hardiness and valor
White symbolizes purity and innocence &
Blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice!

Our flag should always be flown above all other flags. 🇺🇸🇺

Dear Veterans, Service Members, and Military Spouses,

Join the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Amazon for a chance to connect directly with Amazon Veteran Ambassadors at a virtual event on June 16, 2026, at 2-3 p.m. ET.

Amazon employs more than 45,000 Veterans across a multitude of businesses and this virtual event aims to highlight the various Amazon military programs available to Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses and connect them directly with Amazon recruiters and Veterans hiring team.

This virtual event will have break-out sessions that will cover Amazon.com opportunities including SkillsBridge, Military campus opportunities, apprenticeships, software development, operations, data centers, IT, and reliability and maintenance engineering.

As part of the celebration, ODNR is seeking submissions of letters or messages Ohio service members sent to their families and loved ones 💌

These letters will be a part of a new trail called The Letters to Home Trail, that will be constructed at Mohican State Forest near the Mohican-Memorial Shrine (pictured). This shrine honors the nearly 20,000 people who died in conflicts from World War II to the present day.

The trail will include a series of signs, sharing the meaningful words Ohio's service men and women communicated home while serving in the United States military during times of conflict. The messages can be in the form of letters, emails, voicemails, or even text messages.
