Happy Thursday. Whatcha reading lately? We’ll be digging into this new book by soon, “I Hear Freedom”. Cover art painted by friend and local multi-disciplined artist , of Cleveland born free jazz pioneer Albert Ayler.

We also have a show tonight at the shop. Indie folk / singer songwriter acts. Harboursome had to drop so we’ll be getting a full solo set by . $10-$15 is recommended to help pay the artists, especially the ones on tour. No one ever turned away for lack of funds.

Music starts @ 7:30, shop will be open all day till then, cafe open between performances!

NEXT MONDAY, June 8th, we will be open for a few hours to celebrate the fact that Big Boy no. 4014 is stopping right around the block from us!

“Big Boy No. 4014 is the world’s largest operating steam locomotive. Of the eight remaining Big Boys in existence today, No. 4014 is the only one still in operation.“ - Union Pacific Website.

The Big Boy is scheduled to stop at 11:15. We will be open from 10am-1pm that day. Come grab a snack and drink and hang out while we wait for the train!

Happy Saturday, Lorain!

We’ve got Black Vulture Ramen here today at 4pm - sell out. If you haven’t had their ramen yet, don’t wait. It’s really incredible stuff.

Tonight we have Griffin Brown, Naomi Columna, Pirl & Megachurch playing. Music starts around 7:30. We recommend donating $10-$15 to help pay the artists, but no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds. Cafe will remain open throughout the show.

HAPPY FRIDAY! We’ve got some new stuff on the shelves, including the new LP from BY STORM, formerly known as Injury Reserve. Jacob is calling it his “favorite of the year, so far”. Atmospheric, psychedelic experimental hip hop / electronic. By Storm was formed after the death of Injury Reserve MC Stepa J. Groggs, carrying the torch of the music the group made together while redefining their sound for a new era.

Jacob also finally had time to price a decent amount of used records, lots of old surf, psych, some funk and some folk. Plenty more to come!

No updates to our drink / tea menu, but welcome a new bagel supplier and flavor, Electric Baking Co. sourdough bagels. We will continue to carry the same Cleveland Bagel Co. offerings as well.
