Friday Harbor to Watmough Bay with a glorious sunset over Chadwick Hill. Our first day out with Portland Waldorf was a joy! We had some lovely sailing outside of Cattle Pass complete with an Orca sighting before letting the current carry us around the south end of Lopez Island to our peaceful anchorage for the night before we cross the straits in the morning.

You want sunsets? We’ve got sunsets. You want climbing? We’ve got climbing aloft? You want a small boat in davits with a gorgeous backdrop? We have it. You want breaching humpbacks? We had it scheduled for 1700 but the whales can’t tell time and they missed us. We’ll put it on tomorrow’s schedule.

Port Townsend to Decatur head with Whatcom Hills 7th grade class. Smooth crossing of Juan de Fuca today, started with a little roll and I the waves but quickly smoothed out for a lovely crossing, complete with a humpback traveling near us for a while. We even saw a fluke!
