Loon Lake Live is back for the summer! We’re so delighted to have these amazing musicians join us for free, live music in the Children’s Room on select Saturdays at 10:30am this summer. Tomorrow (7/19) morning at 10:30 they’ll play music for strings and oboe. We hope you’ll stop by!

Feelin’ those DIY community vibes as we kick off our first evening concert of the ‘25 season. Library patrons loved it yesterday morning - even the couple in the “splash zone”! - and now that we’ve finished our dress rehearsals in this evocative space we’re looking forward to playing all of it in the Loon Lake Jewish Center tonight at 7:30pm.

🇺🇸This Independence Day weekend we celebrate the American composers of our 2025 season. Today we feature Anna Clyne and John Winn, composers who are both highly influenced by jazz. 🎷🎹😎 Anna Clyne became a naturalized US citizen just last year! 🇺🇸🇺🇸 She is one of the most frequently commissioned and performed composers of our time. Her music is highly personal and frequently references other art forms as inspiration. 🎨🎭 🎶 John Winn is a native of Virginia and has spent most of his compositional career within the jazz genre. He has composed crossover classical music for Loon Lake Live in the past and is currently finishing his first major musical theater piece. Loon Lake Live musicians have recently recorded his 2009 string quartet and 2024 string trio - available for streaming and download soon! 🎶🇺🇸 You can hear Anna Clyne's "Breathing Statues" for string quartet on our 7/31-8/2 concerts, and her "Woman Holding a Balance" plus John Winn's "The More Things Change" for string quartet on our 8/7&8 concerts.
