HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We provide clients with four grocery bags of non-perishable, shelf stable foods and gift cards for families to purchase fresh food and hygiene items, one time per month. (note: only clients in the Loomis Basin receive gift cards)
There are three important ways you can help us:
*DONATE FOOD: The following are items we can always use - 1-2 lb flour, sugar, powdered milk, cooking oil, syrup, pancake mix, peanut butter and jelly and Raman noodles.
*DONATE MONEY: While donors may want to contribute food items, many times a monetary contribution can go MUCH further. We purchase food from the Placer County Food Bank at a DEEP DISCOUNT, and therefore have more purchasing power. Donated money goes further when food is purchased in this manner. For example, you can by a 15oz container of peanut butter for $2.28, and we can buy 12-25oz jars for $2.47 from the food bank.
*DONATE GIFT CARDS: You can donate gift cards in denominations of 20$. We prefer gift cards to Raley's, Safeway, Winco, and Walmart.
You can mail or drop off any of the above donations at: First United Methodist Church of Loomis 6414 Brace Road, Loomis, CA 95650. Make checks payable to FUMC, Loomis and write in the memo line "food pantry." If you provide your name and address with your donation, you will receive a thank you note, which you can use as a "Tax Deduction."
