Whistling Acres Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary. We are starting out small but have plans to expand soon.

Currently in residence we have horses, dogs, cats, and chickens

First check of the night, and this adorable little guy was just starting to stand up💕. Dahlia had him all cleaned off and within 20 minutes he was nursing.

I decided to try Daisy Mae with her herd again, now that Darko has been banded for a few weeks. It is going great so far. They settled in to all eating peacefully shortly after a little reintroduction.

Goat update for the evening.
The vet was out today and gave vaccines, banded (castrated) Darko-and administered pain meds, and performed 3 ultrasounds. The ultrasound results are as follows:
Daisy is pregnant
Dahlia is pregnant
Little Petunia is NOT pregnant
The vet said most likely they will be born in March or April so we have some time yet. 💕🐐

We all know how hard winter in Minnesota is on stray/feral cats (and all animals). Recently I've gotten to know one of those special individuals with a heart for those cats/kittens in need of help. I asked her to write a short summary of her mission and the obstacles she has faced in trying to provide adequate shelter for the cats she is caring for. That summary is below and I am asking my fellow animals lovers to reach out to my friend Crystal (tagged on this post) and help her obtain the shelter she so desperately needs. Also included in this post is an AMAZON wishlist for the critters she cares for.

My name is Crystal and I am a dog foster for SNAFU. I love helping animals in need and around here there are so many kittens being born in barns where people do not fix them so it’s a never ending cycle. I took in 4 babies this fall to try to minimize the amount of litters and am trying to get them warm shelter. 2 very amazing people donated the funds for me to purchase this “insulated” cat house and I got it and put it together and I just do not think it matches the description they say on Amazon. I don’t think it will be sufficient for my 5 outdoor babies this winter. Now I am trying to find another shelter for them. Currently my garage door is cracked open so they have cozy shelter but that isn’t an option for all winter long.

HUGE thank you to Wag N Wash in Eagan for the wonderfully generous donations to Whistling Acres Rescue and Sanctuary and to Kris Foster, who delivers food and other supplies reservation dogs! This is a great store in Eagan, with the friendliest staff and a terrific selection of food/supplies, etc. I encourage you to stop in - you will not be disappointed!

Welcome to Whistling Acres, Luna! I picked Luna up today from a great couple who discovered a serious mold issue in their home and rehomed Luna to keep her healthy. She’s a little unsure of the boys surrounding her right now, (hence the kennel) but soon I’m sure they will all be snuggled up together. She’s Just beautiful. And so sweet 💕💕
