was born from founder Russ Durham's lifelong passion for fixing bicycles and a desire to help Central Florida's homeless population. While serving at a homeless shelter many years ago, Russ noticed broken bikes lined up along a fence. Years later, he continues to make an immeasurable impact in our community, along with a team of volunteers, partnering with nearly 30 local churches and nonprofits t
hat serve the homeless to distribute bikes to those in need. To date, Rusty's has donated and repaired thousands of bicycles for homeless men, women, and children, including many military veterans and children in foster care throughout Central Florida. A reliable bike leads to freedom and independence for homeless individuals, helping to break the cycle of helplessness and hopelessness. Their universe grows from 25 to 750 square miles, which also helps lead to employment.
