At Crossroads Corral, we are especially grateful for those who have served and the families who carry both pride and loss. This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen, honor their legacy, and hold close the values of courage, service, and compassion.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded why this work matters. Because sometimes the safest place to begin healing is beside a horse who simply stands with you.

Our team who hosted our “A Moment for Mom- a workshop for moms of kiddos w/special needs” has been holding back the tears reading the testimonials as they come in. See for yourself 🥹⬇️

“A Moment for Mom event at Crossroads Corral was truly a gift for this Momma who was feeling drained and burned out. I have a son who is medically complex and also work full time with families who have children with disabilities. The stories I hear daily, along with the needs of my own son were weighing heavily on my shoulders. I felt like a life preserver had been thrown in my direction when I heard about "A Moment for Mom." The entire day was purposeful and meaningful. The day started with introductions and snacks and then we were off to yoga. The yoga was so peaceful outdoors with the beautiful horses in the backdrop and a cool breeze to help us connect with nature and ourselves. Learning about the horses was fascinating. I never imagined that simply brushing such a beautiful creature could be so meaningful. I loved that the activities during and after were facilitated by professionals initiating conversations from all mothers. The miniature pony activity was such an ingenious way to get mothers of children with unique needs to connect by talking about obstacles and sharing ways to work through them. Lunch was delicious and the discussion I had with the mothers near me evoked tears from all three of us. It took me by surprise because I am always pushing forward and typically don't cry. Painting on the horse ( a first for me) and listening to every Mom share why they chose the word they chose about motherhood and the word they chose that would be left at Crossroads Corral felt so meaningful. The final activity of making a bracelet was a true treat. The act of threading each bead on the cord required focus and it felt wonderful to leave having a beautiful bracelet that I actually me, (with amazing help). Being a participant in the Moment for Mom Event, was fuel for my tired soul. I left Crossroads Corral feeling rejuvenated and thankful. “

We had the most incredible morning and our hearts are so full ❤️

🫶Our Moment for Mom retreat gave mothers of children with special needs something they rarely receive: time to pause, breathe, and some self care.

Quiet moments with the horses, meaningful conversations with other moms who “get it”, space to reflect, and some fun made this day truly meaningful.

Thank you to Ali Van Gundy and the Van Gundy family for sponsoring this incredible workshop, and to all of our volunteers who made the day run so smoothly. We are deeply grateful for each of you!

Gracie Lou has continued to receive care for her injury she sustained in the pasture, and we are still hoping for support towards her medical bills.
