National Liberation Front rural Tax collector stamp
This stamp was captured together along with the belt pouch, I was told it was found in a three cell ruck on the outside of a village as the Veterans unit was pushing in.
These stamps have been found in many different styles but mainly all made from wood and carved in a similar fashion. Used by Tax collectors who were procuring goods for the resistance, mainly food provisions, such as, rice and sugar. After the goods were handed over, they would stamp a provided booklet showing the farmer or shop keeper has paid up for the war effort. It’s been known this wasn’t voluntary all of the time.
The bag itself is getting to be a harder item to find. I have a few of these but this is my only tan one. They were common to find holding rice bowls, canteens, and in this case, a tax stamp.
