We would like to recognize the hard labor of Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM).
1 pharmacist, 2 volunteers, 6 preceptors, and 39 medical students have served our people with medical care, reading glasses, and tons of toys for children. They have brought joy to people and served them in a very kind way.
Communities served: Las Crucitas, Veracruz, Quezailica, and Los Mangos. More than 450 people were attended.
Thank you VCOM. 😎

A couple of weeks ago, we had our first medical brigade of 2026.
What an honor to work in company with Nolen Hills Church. 36 volunteers spread between two groups served two communities simultaneously. More than 1,000 people have been attended with medical care, reading glasses and medicine supplies in Dolores Copan and Concepcion Copan.
God brings hope through medical care to these communities,
Thank you Nolen Hills Church.

Francis, the assistant director of Project Moses, entered the Project as a student in 2017 and it was very transformative in his life. His father, Don Arturo, shares often about the impact on his son and their family as a whole.

"We, as a low-income family, took this opportunity as a great encouragement to us. Obtaining the scholarship had many benefits, both in terms of food security and the education, as well as the Christian formation. Our family also has our Christian principles, given by our parents or grandparents, and this trajectory in the Project has been very valuable to Francis as well as for us as a family. We believe that studying greatly benefits people and the wellbeing of our society. We have seen that from our son, Francis. His way of treating other people, his vocation, his behavior, everything is different, and that is very valuable. We should wish this for every other young person. We thank Mission UpReach who are always watching over the students who are in training and, God willing, this work must continue. May those who have managed to acquire knowledge put it into the service of their family and anyone else they can help."

These are the final hours to take advantage of the $500K matching gift to DOUBLE the impact of your donation!

One of the simplest ways for us to explain our mission here at MUR is that everything we do is focused on rooting people in Christ. In Colossians 2:6-7, the Apostle Paul says, 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. If we do our job well, in rooting this generation in Christ, we will be vicariously reaching the next generation and perhaps several more beyond.

It’s truly a beautiful thing, the privilege of seeing something grow and flourish. Being around for the initial planting of the seed, the nurturing of the new plant, imagining a root system growing and maturing, and then to see the plant turn into a tree with healthy branches, producing fruit. What a gift! Matthew 13:31-32 says, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” The seeds that have been planted and continue to be planted through the good works of Mission UpReach are like the mustard seed, they seem small and insignificant initially but grow into a large tree with branches that provide shade and rest for others. We have been blessed to witness that growth.

"I remember as a child hearing my parents remark, “I can’t believe it’s December already.” At the same time, I remember thinking as a child, “I thought it would never come.” My parents did such a wonderful job of making Christmas magical for us kids. Yes, it was centered around the usual Santa visit including candy, nuts, fruit, toys, and clothes. For us it was just about the only time of year we received such things. I couldn’t even imagine that Christmas was different for other children in the world. Having lived in Honduras for more than 16 years, it has been sobering to see the children around us get so excited for the new set of clothes they receive as their only Christmas gift. They look forward to stepping out into the streets of their neighborhood to show off their prized wear. It humbles me to see such joy over something so simple. I love that Phil and I get to serve in a culture of simplicity, a place where the simplest of gifts means the world. As we reflect on this past year, despite its challenges and losses, we still believe we are living our dream life. We love what we do and are thankful to each of you for making that possible. We covet your prayers that God will continue to protect us and provide as He has for these 16+ years. As the years have gone by, I find myself saying, as my parents did, “I can’t believe it’s December already.” Time is moving on, and soon we will all find ourselves experiencing what Isaiah 25:6-8 says, “On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.” May He bring you and your family joy in simplicity during the holiday season and many blessings in the year to come."

I remember as a child hearing my parents remark, “I can’t believe it’s December already.” At the same time, I remember thinking as a child, “I thought it would never come.” My parents did such a wonderful job of making Christmas magical for us kids....

James Franklin McCreary III was first a friend and then a partner in ministry with Donna and I for almost forty years. During the early eighties, we were a young couple at a church in Atlanta for years where James and Merrill attended. Later when we began a mission in Cozumel, MĂ©xico that led to the establishment of the orphanage, Ciudad de Ángeles, James served as one of the first board members. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Merrill and their entire family with James’ sudden passing on October 11th of this year.

The family requested that in lieu of flowers, that gifts be made to either Ciudad de Ángeles or Mission UpReach, Inc., which are two works that he supported with all his heart. Several people have sent memorial gifts to us. Speaking for Mission UpReach, I would like to say, that our entire organization is grateful for James’ legacy. And speaking as friends, Donna and I are deeply grateful for having our lives enriched by our association with James. If you would like to read more about his extraordinary life of service to others, you can click the link in the comments below.

"The next time you hear from us, we will be reporting on our annual Bible camp. As of this writing we have around 200 children from ages 8-18 signed up for one of the three weeks of camp. It’s an exciting time of year for us and for the children we serve. This camp is run by a mostly volunteer staff of young people. The week begins on Sunday afternoon and ends early Friday morning. We take good care of the children, giving them specialized attention, lots of love, and of course plenty to eat. We look forward to sharing the fun through photos with you in our next newsletter."

"Another school year has come to an end; thus, another year of our boys’ program has wrapped up. We ended the year with 23 young men. One of those young men graduated from high school, Benjamin Román. Benjamin has been a model student: studious, obedient, and very humble. Benjamin studied accounting in high school and would like to continue his studies at the University level. We have extended to him an invitation to continue to live at the project and receive a scholarship in exchange for his assistance in the project." Continue reading the update at the link below!

"The Apostle Paul urges Timothy to preach to others that they should pray for kings and those in authority so that, 'we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, Godly and dignified in every way.' This past month on November 30th, general elections were held here in Honduras. The buildup to the elections was filled with a lot of angst about whether or not the ruling party, Libre, would accept any result other than their being re-elected for another four years. As it turns out, as of this writing, the current ruling party is trailing in third place by a significant margin and the two other parties are tied “neck and neck” for first place. The vote here is a simple majority vote meaning that if one party achieves even one more vote than the other party that one vote will determine the winner.

We and our church here have been praying, during the lead up to the election, that God will intervene and choose the party that He wants to rule here in the next four years. Honduran citizens are facing incredible difficulties. More than 60% of the people are living in poverty. Homicides per 100,000 have declined over the years but are still the highest in Central America." .... Continue reading at the link below
