Pilot Club of Longview is a proud sponsor supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. Our club is blessed to have Shannon Trest as one of our Pilot members serving as our club secretary. Shannon is the area manager for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and conducts the walks for Longview, Texarkana and Tyler. She has worked very hard and appreciates all the support today at the Longview Walk. It was beautiful day!

Tuesday, September 8th at 6 pm at First Lutheran Church Longview is the next meeting of the Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group, sponsored by the Pilot Club of Longview. This month's speaker will be Jeanne Ubalde, Physical Therapist and owner of U First Wellness. She will be speaking on concussion management so please plan to attend. Light Refreshments will be served.

Today was our Official Visit for the Pilot Club of Longview. We welcomed Lt. Gov Jackie Thornton from the Texas District, Pilot International and also the Pilot Club of Nacogdoches. President Julia Yost conducted the business meeting today and discussed the current activities as well as upcoming events. Tuesday, September 8, is our next Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group meeting to be held at First Lutheran Church Longview at 6 pm with an informative program.

What a great Pilot Club meeting yesterday! Had several special guests—Yulanda Perkins, Ivy Brown and Janis Holland. So happy to have all of you and hope you’ll come back! President Julia Yost, Shannon Trest and Bobbie King shared highlights from Pilot International convention in Oklahoma City last month. Then the club wrote special letters for the campers going to Mountain High in a few weeks so they will have “mail” from home. Mountain High is an annual multi-day retreat in Red River, NM for adult survivors of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). It is organized with support from Texas Pilot clubs and the Texas District of Pilot International.

Julia Yost, Bobbie King and Shannon Trest have been attending the Pilot International Convention in Oklahoma City this week. The Pilot Club of Longview looks forward to hearing their reports when they return home and share their experiences. Also in attendance from our club at the Anchor Summit (not pictured) is Lori Fried, who is not only our advisor for Longview High School Anchor Club, but Lori is also the Texas District Anchor Coordinator this year.

Good morning, Pilots! GLITZY T-SHIRTS with the beautiful Pilot Wheel that y'all have loved are back! We have long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts available in sizes S-M-L-XL-2XL-3XL-4XL and 5XL. Shannon Trest, Julia Yost and Bobbie King are at PI Convention in Oklahoma City and have some short-sleeved shirts with them in assorted sizes, but they can take orders to ship as well. A great time to order enough for everyone in your club! They are beautiful and wash very well. The sale of these shirts is going towards a very special community project. The monthly Brain Injury Support Group meeting will be this Tuesday, July 14 at 6 pm at First Lutheran Church, 3901 Bill Owens Pkwy at Hawkins in Longview. The speaker will be Sharron Fowler who will be discussing the programs and services offered by Oceans Behavioral Hospital here in Longview. Light refreshments will be served.
