We had a beautiful morning of remembrance with our friends at Counting Stars Ranch as they hosted a 2.2 mile ruck for su***de awareness. The participants wore their loved ones names on bandanas on their arms, it was very moving to see how many have been impacted by loss. The message today was keep going, reach out, don’t give up 💙

A wonderful start to the day, it was good to see so many come out and show their appreciation for our service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Our thanks to the Longview Parks & Rec for putting it on, LPD & LFD, American Legion, Josh Gibbons, and Deputy Chief Harrington for reminding us why it is so important to take the time for remembrance today.

This Memorial Day we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

Our office is closed Monday as we take time to attend the local Memorial Day ceremonies and reflect. We will be back Tuesday morning, call us at (903)932-3938 if this day feels heavy and you could use some extra support.

LOCATION CHANGE: Due to forecasted inclement weather, the Memorial Day Ceremony will be held inside the Longview Fire Training Center at 411 American Legion Blvd.

Military Appreciation Day at the SPCA of East Texas will be held on Saturday, May 23rd. This special event honors not only those who have served, but also those who are currently serving today.

We invite all veterans, active-duty service members, and their families to join us for a day of celebration, community, and support while touring our adoption facility and learning more about the impact of our Pets for Veterans of East Texas program.

Veterans are encouraged to complete an adoption application in advance for pre-approval. All adoption fees will be waived for veterans as part of this event.

Please come dressed in your branch support gear to show your pride and service.
We’re also excited to announce that CampV will be on site, joining us in support of our veterans and community.

Service dog demonstration at 12:00 PM featuring K9 Connections Dog Training
