Hello All,

Today is the last day (can you believe it)! Here are a few reminders:

-Students need to bring their camp shirts. If they did not receive them on Monday, they will receive them today.

-Students will wear their camp shirt and concert black bottoms for the concert tonight.

-Students must bring their name tags and music back. They will be turning those in to us tonight.

-Students must take all personal belongings home. Anything left will be placed in the LCC lost and found.

-An early dinner will be served to students before the concert. Students selected pizza yesterday. We will have that plus some sides. Like with the snacks, we will have options for students with allergies but they are still welcome to bring their own food.

-The concert is at 5:30pm tonight. It is Free!

See you later,

Rachel Davis

Day three is when the pieces of music begin to sound like complete works. We are so proud of all of that the students have been able to accomplish so far. We are looking forward to putting the finishing touches on the pieces for Friday’s concert!

A few more photos from yesterday. Bingo from Bluey is our mascot this year! If you’re not sure why that matches with the theme of Horizons, then you should watch the “Sleepytime” episode. Our students go on a scavenger hunt to find Bingo each day. She was found pretty quickly during snack time yesterday!

Time for one more staff intro before camp starts tomorrow. “Hi, I’m David Klander and I’m looking forward to my 3rd year working at the Symphony Summer Camp. I started playing the saxophone 50 years ago when I was 12 years old. A few years ago I retired after teaching high school and middle school band for 32 years. I stay busy as a musician; I’ve played in several local music groups over the years and I’m the musical director of the Northwest Jazz Orchestra. I’ve been playing and teaching music almost my entire life. It’s something I’m passionate about. I’m looking forward to sharing that with students next week.”
