Longview Yacht Club is located outside of Jefferson, Texas, on Lake 'O the Pines. Activities include a balance of racing, cruising and social events.

Our clubhouse has two bathrooms with showers, kitchen, and living area with large windows overlooking the lake. Our new pier has electricity for every slip along with water hoses available for use. ge grills are great for social events, and our swingset and gazebo are fun for the kids. Several sunfish are available for use by the members, and with reciprocal membership to clubs all over the country and Boat US membership discount, the Longview Yacht Club is a great benefit. Come join us!

We had a wonderful Blessing of the Fleet celebration this year. Pastor Troy Bayne preformed the blessing and his words brought comfort, inspiration, and a deep sense of connection to the sea and to one another. His presence reminded us of the power of faith, tradition, and community as we set forth into a new season of sailing. We are truly grateful for the time, care, and spirit he shared with us, and for helping us honor our mariners, past and present, and for guiding us with his prayerful leadership.

Michelle created a beautiful setting for our meal and lovely decorations throughout the clubhouse and pavilion.

2025 LYC SAILING CLASS (Beginners & Advanced)

LYC Members;

LYC is offering a “Introduction to Sailing” Series targeted to both new and experienced sailors, re-enforcing the basics, while adding more advanced skills and knowledge. It all starts with taking everyone out on an evening sail on Lake O’ the Pines.

We have secured instructors and classroom facility in downtown Longview for the class room portion. We will also, be providing Zoom meeting access for anyone not able to attend classroom sessions in person.
The final class will be on the water drills and race with coaches and students assigned to boats. This class is open to anyone age 12 and over. Cost will be Free to LYC members, $20 (18 and under) and $50 (per adult) or $75 (per couple).

Tuesday, April 24th 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM “Intro to Racing / Tactics” @ 119 W. Tyler, suite 100
Saturday May 3rd 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM “On the water sailing drills/race ” (Students will be assigned to a coach/boat) @ on the water at LYC

Happy New Year! Papacitas was delish! We missed all who were not able to attend. Played a little New Year’s trivia with chocolate kisses…Did you know Hershey, Pennsylvania drops a giant Hershey Kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve? Mike and Karen McGowan were the trivia winners with 10 collected chocolate kisses and took home the Happy New Year balloon trophy!

What a great LYC Christmas Party we were even visited by St Nick (aka Al Hildebrand) and his helper Elf Sandra. The food was fabulous and the Christmas decorations added to the season’s special spirit. Thank you Michelle for making it a night to remember.

Our LYC Chili Cook Off Social and Race was a great success Brent Smith won “Best Overall and Spiciest” and Valerie Lowery won “Most Creative”. Later out on the lake the “Wind Gods” let the racers down half way through the race, nevertheless getting on the water with our visitors Mike and Janet from France turned out to be a fun day for all.

Our “See You Later Alligator” send off and potluck dinner for Kathleen and Terry was a great send off for them. Members shared wonderful memories as well as a few laughs and best wishes for their future as well as hopes to see them from time to time back on the water at LYC. As usual the decorations and the variety of appetizers and food was outstanding.

LYC Glow Up Social Saturday night. We had a great time and missed everyone who could not make it! We all decorated our boats and voted for most outstanding, the winners being the Rogers! We played glow ring toss, glow tic tac toe and danced under the lights to tunes DJ’d by Mitch Deleo.

Of course, as always, we ate yummy snacks and desserts brought by the members. A super fun night!!

On a very rainy day we had the traditional Blessing for the Fleet at the Longview Yacht Club. The Reverend Vicki Wood conducted a beautiful blessing. We then enjoyed a Shrimp and Crawfisn Boil Feast with all the trimmings including dessert.
