Ministry focused on meeting the needs of children and foster families in East Texas. Please see the LONGER DESCRIPTION and our PINNED POST for more info.

We are here to serve those with a need for children. It's not even truly about a need, but about the children. If you are a foster, fictive or kinship family with kids in your home due to CPS involvement or Safe Families we want to serve you. We give out of our abundance! We have amazing donations from amazing people and we want to share with you! Please send us a private message and let us see how we can help you! If you would like to donate time, items, school supplies or money to the closet, please let us know. It is a literal drop off! Items we take: GREAT CONDITION items (please do not bring things that have stains or rips, we don't hand out "play clothes", but want all of items to be in great shape.) All baby type things such as high chairs, bouncy seats, carseats no older than 6 years, in great shape, never been in a wreck. We do NOT take monogrammed items or items with names on them. We LOVE reusable bags that fold flat! New backpacks, new socks and new underwear, diapers including pull ups for bigger kiddos (we gets lots of newborn and size 1). If you have any other questions send us a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible! We have several admins and we will do our best to get back with you in a timely manner. Thank you!!!!

We are so thankful for all of you who support the closet and bring donations to us. We do want to remind everyone though that we are not allowed to drive on the grass from the parking lot to our building to unload things. We have a nice metal wagon that you can load items in to bring them to the closet. The church has put up signs reminding patrons to not drive on the grass and we unfortunately have videos of people removing the signs and driving across the grass anyway. Please do not do this!!! The church is so generous to provide a place for us to operate and we need to be respectful of their property and abide by the rules.

Thank you!

We absolutely love the sweet supporters that donate for special projects here at the closet! We recently posted that we were in need of toiletry items and these sweet folks came to our rescue! If your church, school or organization would like to collect items for the closet, these kinds of items are great! We also love new socks, underwear, diapers and wipes! 😀

I can't tell you how thankful we are that so many families and organizations have learned about our Closet and our mission, and we have been blessed with so many new faces and families over this year. Just this week so far we have been able to bless 18 children and we have appointments still to go tomorrow and this weekend. With so many sweet children coming through the doors, we are starting to run low on several things and need your help to restock!

Our girl winter bins 2t, 3t & 5t are low.
Our boy winter bins 12 mth, 2t, 3t, 4t & 10/12 are low.
We always need diapers and pull-ups, especially size 3-5!!

Thank you all for your support! ❤️❤️❤️

This is Kara!

I’m an adoptee and an adoptive mom, and I serve as the Forever Family Director with Here I Am Orphan Ministries. My heart is to support adoptive and foster moms who may be struggling or simply need encouragement and rest.

Thanks to a generous donation, we’re able to host small group retreats for moms completely FREE of charge. These retreats are faith-based and include meaningful discussions on topics that matter to you, plenty of relaxation time, delicious meals, and connection with other moms who understand your journey.

We still have a few spots open for our November retreat in Brenham. You can learn more on our website and use the QR code below to sign up for this retreat or express interest in future dates (there will be one in January and June Location TBD)

Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions—I’d love to hear from you!

Its almost time for back to school! There are a lot of great back to school resources to help support families right now. Calvary Baptist Church wanted us to share their backpack giveaway coming up with all our wonderful families. If you know of other events, please post in the comments!

We had an incredible group of women, known as The Support Bras, adopt the closet last month for their donation drive and their focus was on teens! We received a huge amount of toiletries of all kinds, undergarments, and nearly 100 reusable bags (our favorite bags ever!)!!! Thank you ladies so much for your support of Legacy Closet!! ❤️❤️❤️
