We are thrilled that Rotary Club of Kelso has taken over our community spelling bee held annually in March. A wonderful, fun fund raiser. Check it out:

Put together a team of two or three of your most imposing spellers and be part of an evening filled with fun and friendly competition. Come in costume (or not) and together - we’ll help our community!

What a ride we’ve had! In 1990, a wonderful group of ladies came together to start an Altrusa club that meets in the morning. Early! For many years, we’ve provided and serviced the magazine rack for the Longview Library, passed out socks and un**es for local elementary schools, served tacos at Communuty House on Broadway, designed two Afghan keepsakes displaying our community, created “graduation” baskets for ESS, worked with Habitat for Humanity, started a fun community spelling bee, Spell-ebration, which provided funds for scholarships and other community needs. Too many causes to list. We’ve had fun building relationships and helping those that need a hand up. The time has come to sadly close this chapter and happily move on to personal adventures. Time is important and we need to spend it with our families. But we all have giving hearts and you’ll see us donating our time somewhere. Thank you for supporting our projects these past 28 years!! Your kindness was appreciated.

We lost a dear sweet Altrusan. Her funeral was today. Cindy was not in our Altrusa group, she was a noon group member. What a dear, lovely, giving woman. She will be missed by many especially the children that enjoyed her at Kelso Library. RIP Cindy....enjoy the fields of sunflowers! Cindy Schimpf Diane Perron Debra Jean Bye Johnson Susan Brookfield
