The area is supported by the Longview Downtowners, a 501(C)(3) dedicated to making downtown thrive. The Longview Downtowners is a group of people dedicated to the development and revitalization of Downtown Longview. These people are business owners, property owners, members of the community and other special groups. Member meetings are held the third Thursday of each month, upstairs at Mill City G
rill. Meeting information including dates, times and place will be posted on this page along with other event information. Downtown Longview is the heart and soul of the community. The bright and thriving commercial district has the welcoming charm of a small town, with the cultural sophistication of a big city. Here you will find beautifully restored historical buildings, streetside gardens, pedestrian friendly sidewalks and crossings, entertainment, art galleries, specialty shops, charming eateries, and more. Come and explore Downtown Longview. Longview was built in 1923 and incorporated as a city in 1924. The town is the only “planned city” of the Twentieth Century, and was completely designed and planned out before construction even started. Longview is designated a “Tree City, USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation (NADF) and has earned the NADF Growth Award for excellence in community tree care. Longview Parks and Recreation maintains over 16,000 trees in our community.
