✨Volunteer Spotlight✨ Julia and Cruz Wilson are familiar faces at LCM. They have been volunteering weekly in the Food Box for almost 8 years. As a home school family, the Wilsons make it part of Cruz's curriculum to serve others and learn about community needs. Julia said, “Working with LCM is an opportunity to serve together. It’s one of the greatest things you can teach your children.”

Cruz has taken this mission to heart. He has won LCM’s Souper Bowl of Caring food drive as an individual for 7 years in a row! He spends weeks going all around town collecting food donations from friends and neighbors, setting up at businesses, making promotional videos and picking up food.

To current and future volunteers Julia said, “Look what you can be a part of! It doesn’t matter your age or schedule, you’re always able to get involved. We’re blessed to be a blessing.”

We love our volunteers and would love to have you! Volunteers can work shifts any weekday between 7:00 AM and 11:30 AM/12:30 PM in the Food Box and between 8:30-11:30/12:30 in the Service Center. Email [email protected] to get plugged in!

Let's brainstorm... Collecting most needed items is a great Sunday School project! Travelers - grab the samples you've collected from hotels! There are countless opportunities to give and your donations are appreciated more than you know.

LCM is in need of oatmeal, ramen noodles and several hygiene items - bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. You can drop donated items off at the Food Box weekdays between 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Thank you for helping us serve our neighbors in need with love.

Hygiene items are always in very high demand at LCM! This week, we are completely out of both shampoo and body wash and would appreciate donations. As always, ramen noodles are a staple and we welcome donations of those, too.

If you would like to donate, please run by the Food Box between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM weekdays. The Food Box is located in the back of the LCM office (506 N. Second Street). Thank you!

✨Volunteer Spotlight✨ Six years ago, Cecil Williams retired and wanted to use his time to give back. Two friends at church invited him to volunteer at LCM and he’s been here ever since! Asked about his experience, Cecil quickly said “I love it here. I’m going to stay here because this is where I want to be.”

Cecil volunteers in the Service Center twice a week where he works directly with clients in the main office. He gets to hear their stories, hear about their life and often discuss how much they appreciate LCM. He said, “I’m a people person. I like talking to people and smiling so that they want to open up. I want to make their day better.”

Of his background, Cecil noted that he grew up in a family of 10 and they struggled. He said, “God has blessed me and I want to serve with a smile and try to give people what they need.”

You’ll find Cecil all over LCM! When the Food Box needs more volunteers on busy mornings Cecil jumps right in to help set up then takes his spot in the Service Center. Of his fellow volunteers, he said, “Every day we have fun and we laugh and joke.” He said that it doesn’t take long to become part of the LCM team and serve together with love.

This week, Longview Community Ministries is most needing lotion, Ramen noodles, canned chicken, canned tuna and hair conditioner. These items are included in food boxes and are of great help to our neighbors in need.

Thank you in advance for your donations! You can drop them off at the Food Box located at the back of LCM at 506 N. 2nd Street between 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
