A new year at AAF East Texas is starting, and we have open seats on our board.

If you have ever thought about getting more involved in the local advertising community, this is a good time to step in. We are a small club, so it is not a huge commitment.

We are looking for a few people to fill these roles:

- Vice President
- Programs Chair
- Student Engagement Chair
- Communications Chair

Our first in-person board meeting is Thursday, July 16 at 6:30 PM in Tyler. Not local? We meet on Teams every month in between, so you can take part from anywhere in East Texas.

Past President of AAF East Texas and current AAF District 10 Governor, Austin Sandy, will receive the Governor of the Year Award at Admerica!

Congratulations to Austin Sandy on receiving the Governor of the Year Award for outstanding service and dedication in the role of District 10 Governor!

The Governor of the Year Award is presented to the single AAF Governor who has made the greatest impact during the year, based on the requirements of the role. Austin Sandy worked diligently to meet all deadlines, actively participated in the overarching goals of the national council, and effectively recruited new members and chapters within AAF District 10. As a reflection of his work ethic and commitment that he is receiving this award.

Congratulations to our East Texas students who received awards at Advent10n!

AAF East Texas Past President Austin Sandy was able to present local ADDY Awards to three Stephen F. Austin State University students. NSAC Team 452, Isabel Jedmears, Julio Espinoza, and Cassandra Sarmiento.

Additionally, Rebecca Ringo from East Texas Baptist University became the first AAF East Texas student to win an AAF District 10 ADDY Award! Congrats, Rebecca!

Today our President, Mindy Lewellen and Education chair, Dan Streety, presented Addys to student winners for our student division of the American Advertising Awards.
1 Honorable Mention, 1 Silver, 2 Best of Categories, 1 Gold, and Best of Show.
These were all presented to the talented individuals at East Texas Baptist University.
We are super proud of these upcoming graduates and are looking forward to what they will bring to the advertising industries future at large. Congrats! 🎉
