A story from an open home:

One beautiful part of the Isaiah 117 House mission is caring not only for children entering foster care, but also helping ease the transition for the families welcoming them in.

While a home may not always get to meet the foster families they serve, sometimes they receive the sweetest reminders of the impact being made. We love sharing stories like this because they reflect exactly why Isaiah 117 House exists.

A foster family recently shared this note after welcoming a child who spent time at an Isaiah 117 House:
“Words cannot express my gratitude for making this transition easy and for spoiling and loving our baby girl 🩷 Thank you so much for the car seat, pack and play, diaper bag stuffed with clothes, and duffle bag filled with other goodies for her. Big thank you to the Isaiah 117 team 🙏🏽”

This is what your support makes possible.

Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every prayer helps create moments like this for children entering foster care and for the families stepping in to care for them.

This is what we are building together here in Horry County, and we are so grateful to be building it with you. 🏡

During one of the hardest moments of her young life, a little girl walked through the red doors of Isaiah 117 House. She was entering foster care scared, unsure, and leaving behind everything familiar.

But because of the love, comfort, and care she received, that memory became something different. Months later, when her foster parents asked what she wanted to do for her birthday, she said, “I want to go back to the Isaiah 117 House.”

This National Foster Care Month, we want to say THANK YOU to every volunteer, foster parent, child welfare worker, donor, and prayer warrior.
YOU are the reason stories like hers exist.
YOU are helping us change the way foster care begins.

Any way you slice it… DSS delivers. 🍕

Yesterday, during National Foster Care Month, we had the opportunity to serve lunch to the incredible DSS caseworkers who show up every single day for Horry County’s children and families. These men and women carry a heavy and often thankless responsibility, yet they continue to show up for our kids day after day. We are so grateful for each of them.

A huge thank you to the businesses and volunteers who helped make yesterday possible:
💙 Drinks donated by -cola
💙 Salad and homemade ranch donated by Papa's Grill (Hwy 905-Conway)
💙 Utensils donated by Divine Dining Group
💙 Pizza generously donated by Swing Bridge Pizza Co.

Special thanks to our volunteer Samantha for helping coordinate the pizza donation, delivering and coming out to help serve, and to our appreciation team for doing what they do best month after month.

We are thankful for a community that continues to rally around the people caring for children and families in hard seasons.

A story from an open home ❤️

A sweet little girl walked through our doors quiet, scared, and unsure. Her eyes told a story no child should have to carry. She had walked a hard road filled with abuse and neglect. Every movement was cautious, every word careful, as if she was waiting for the moment she might do something wrong and get in trouble.

We gently told her she was safe here. That she didn’t have to be afraid anymore.

But words can only go so far when a child has been hurt. She needed to see it. She needed to feel it.

Little by little, her guard started to come down. She began to believe that maybe, just maybe, this house was different. That the people here truly wanted nothing more than to love her.

We asked her what she liked. After a moment, she shyly told us she loved Hello Kitty… and anything pink.

Not long before, some amazing ladies from a local quilters group had made a special Hello Kitty “Love Bug.” When we gave it to her, her face lit up in a way we hadn’t seen before.

Then she told us the only other thing she really wanted was a pink fuzzy blanket.

We didn’t have one at the house, so one of our volunteers headed to the store to buy it. As she walked down the aisle, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

There it was….

A pink fuzzy Hello Kitty blanket.

When the volunteer brought it back and placed it in her hands, our sweet girl had tears in her eyes. She hugged that blanket like it was the most precious thing in the world.

To some, it’s just a blanket.
But to her, it meant she was seen.
She was loved.
She mattered.

And to us, it was another reminder that our God never stops showing up for His children. He hasn’t forgotten them, not for a moment.

He cares about every single detail…

Even pink fuzzy Hello Kitty blankets
