Boulder Valley and Longmont Conservation Districts Helping people help the land through natural resource conservation.

The Boulder Valley and Longmont Conservation District serves Boulder County and parts of Weld and Larimer Counties in Colorado. The Conservation Districts provide information to land users about conserving natural resources including; water quality, quantity, nutrient management, pest management, grazing land, and forest health. We also strive to educate youth on the importance of agriculture, educate small landowners on conservation issues such as grazing and erosion control, and provide low cost seedling trees to landowners for erosion protection. Conservation Districts work in cooperation since the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), who provides technical and financial assistance to help agricultural producers and others care for the land. The assistance provided is based on an understanding that the land – the landscape as a whole – must be the focus of conservation. Using this comprehensive approach, the people we help are able to help the land function as a living sustainable system that provides a high standard of living and a quality of life for today and for future generations.
