On this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution declaring the creation and design of the U.S. flag. It proclaimed “that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation."
May the flag forever wave over our nation, proudly protected by Veterans who have bravely fought for our freedom.

You don’t have to be an expert to make a difference—you just have to be willing to show up. Wednesday, June 10th is your opportunity to show up.

Our virtual Be the One training from The American Legion, in partnership with Columbia University, equips you with the tools to recognize when a veteran may be struggling and how to respond with confidence, compassion, and care.

Whether you’re a Legionnaire, family member, or community supporter, this training can help you save a life.

Before heading into the long weekend, take a moment to remember the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday in May, honors the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military. This solemn occasion is a time to reflect on these American patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and defending our country.
Veterans Day, observed every November 11, recognizes all who have served in the Armed Forces.

And while national holidays help us pause, any day is a good day to support Veterans either through a charity or giving a heartfelt “thank you” to those who served.

For some Veterans, opening up about mental health can feel scary. Concerns about stigma or judgment can make it hard to reach out.

This Mental Health Month, hear how others overcame these barriers and gave therapy a chance. https://www.maketheconnection.net/mental-health-month/

Our May partner of the month is Colorado Veterans Project !
