Summer prep with our Super Saturday Crew!

Fly defense for the herd with the ladies. And for the fellas - Tony showed Casey how to operate the tractor. So the once weedy pasture is looking fresh and the animals thoroughly enjoyed exploring a “new” space.

Every week our board member and program director Leanne Mayer not only comes up with the cutest crafts for our groups but she also goes out and buys all the supplies for them, too.

Doing crafts creates a calming, grounding space that eases our groups in before they interact with the animals. Leanne’s generosity and creativity have a ripple effect in more ways than one, and we are so grateful for her decade of love and dedication to Acres of Hope.

As you can see, our friends love these crafts!

Mother’s Day is a beautiful day… and while we celebrate all the amazing Mamas 🤍 we also acknowledge that for many, it is also a reminder of the gaps left behind

We believe joy and grief can coexist so today we hold space for every kind of Mother’s Day journey… for the grieving, the missing, and the ones who found family in unexpected places. 🤍

Our animals often mirror similar walks of the heart that we navigate as humans…

Mamacita reminds us of the incredible strength through grief of mothers navigating the loss of a child.

Penny and Lulu remind us to hold space for those missing their moms today and the ones who have had to find "home" and healing in new, beautiful ways.

We know that for some of you, today carries a different kind of weight and we want to remind you, You are seen.

"Mom" isn’t just a title… it’s the act of showing up, caring for the vulnerable, and the nurturing heart that leaves a ripple effect on the world.

We are so grateful for all of you who continue to show up for those who need it most. We pray that today you are met with sweet memories of the gifts the presence of those loved ones were, and you are reminded of how deeply cherished you are!

Snow on the ground… hay in their bellies… and not a blanket in sight (yet)🐴❄️

Here’s a little fun fact horses actually stay warm from the inside out. Their winter coat fluffs up to trap warm air (nature’s down jacket) and even with them shedding that coat now, every bite of hay they eat fires up a fermentation furnace in their hindgut that generates real body heat. Hay literally warms them from the inside… which is why this morning, the best thing we could do was fill their hay troughs and let them do what horses/cows/ goats do.

Thanks to everyone who made our hay campaign possible! you didn’t just fill a barn, you are keeping the crew warm on days like today ❄️

A beautiful spring day at AOH 🌸

Lots of fun painting little flower pots and planting bright flowers, lovin’ on the animals, and playing games together.

Moments like these remind us how much meaning it adds to life ~ simply helping, showing up, and being there for others.
