Every small act of care creates a huge ripple of relief for pets and their humans! 🐾❤️

Thanks to community support, Annie & Millie’s Place was able to help two furry family members of one of our clients get the targeted care they needed recently:

🐶 Prince came to one of our street clinics suffering from an uncomfortable head tilt. We were able to refer him to the Humane Society, where he received the antibiotics needed to get him on the mend.

🐱 Poppy, a lovely Maine C**n, was struggling with some fur matting. We provided her person with a pair of clippers for ongoing grooming, and covered the cost for the Humane Society to safely remove the two toughest matted areas. Now, Poppy is comfortable and her owner is fully equipped to keep up with her coat on her own!

For under $90 combined, Prince got relief from illness and Poppy got a fresh, pain-free start. Your donations directly translate into tangible health, comfort, and peace of mind for local pets and the people who love them.

As the temperature drops, Annie & Millie’s Place is asking for our community’s help to stock up on winter essentials for our unhoused neighbors and their beloved pets.

🐾 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀:

• 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀 (to fit our bigger four-legged friends)

• 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁-𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘀 (essential for insulation from the cold ground)

🧥 Warmth for Neighbors: We are also collecting winter coats, wool socks, and other warm clothing for our unhoused neighbors. While we focus directly on pet support, we will make sure all human clothing donations reach our local partner organizations to be distributed right where they're needed most!

𝗜𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲. ❤️

When one of our unhoused neighbors reached out, his sweet dog was in severe pain from an urgent ear issue that required emergency care. Facing barriers that many of us take for granted - no phone to call for help and no transportation to make a follow-up appointment - he was doing everything he could for his best friend.

That’s when our incredible community stepped up together:

🐾 Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) immediately stepped in to relieve her pain, performed the necessary surgery, and generously discounted the medical bill.
🤝 A local pastor working closely with the client stepped up to donate funds toward her care.
🐾 Annie and Millie’s covered the remaining balance to ensure she got the complete care she needed without financial burden.

Because a network of caring people refused to let barriers get in the way, this sweet pup is back to feeling comfortable, healthy, and loved alongside her human.

No one should have to face a medical emergency alone. Today, this sweet dog is healing and right where she belongs - with the person who loves her most. 🐶

Every pet parent knows the overwhelming heartbreak of saying goodbye to a beloved companion. But for our unhoused neighbors, that grief is all too often compounded by an impossible financial hurdle. Essential end-of-life services like peaceful euthanasia and cremation are simply out of reach for those living on limited or no income.

While much of our daily work at Annie & Millie’s Place focuses on preventative veterinary care, temporary foster arrangements, and essential supplies, our commitment to our community doesn't end there. We are deeply honored to step in when it is time for a client to say goodbye to their pet.

For the people we serve, these pets are far more than companions - they are steadfast partners who have stood by their side through thick and thin, providing warmth, security, and unwavering love. No one should ever have to watch their best friend suffer at the end of their life due to a lack of funds.

Providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care allows our clients to focus on loving their pets through their final moments, knowing they will be treated with the peace and respect they deserve.
