What started out as a cold and “slow” day at the shop quickly turned into a day that beautifully strung together all of our moving pieces. Successfully operating a business that holds space for retail, non profit programs, volunteer opportunities and all of the things that come with each of those can at times feel quite heavy. I was grateful today for a look at the big picture. In a matter of 2 hours we had an important planning meeting with some of our amazing staff and volunteers, we accepted a huge pottery delivery, had a shift change and got ready for me to step away for 24 hours to spend time with my mom in Denver. I was moved as I stood back and watched everyone pitch in. It’s truly a gift to be part of a team where everyone is working toward a single mission. There’s a strong force behind what we do and I’m so grateful for every person who contributes to Happy Day’s big picture. It’s going to be a cold weekend, but it’ll be cozy in the shop.
