I met Greg Tufaro more than 30 years ago, and we lost touch. In 2023 he reached out after hearing about The Peter Fund. He told me about his work with FoundationMT and graciously offered to partner to bring Kindness Counts Awards to students in Middlesex County, NJ, where I grew up and where Marisa’s foundation was changing so many lives for the better. For the next three years we worked together.
We each lost a child. Reconnecting on that basis was profound for me. Meeting Greg at a Middlesex County sports awards luncheon was an honor.
Through the foundation he built in his daughter’s name, Greg gave away more than $500,000 to support noble causes back home. It was a privilege to be a small part of his mission.
I learned today that Greg passed. May he rest in peace knowing how much good he brought to the world. My deepest condolences to Cyndi and to all his family and friends. This is a huge loss.
