Join us virtually on January 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. for a brief meeting outlining Phase II tasks and to learn how to become involved in the Strategic Seed Reserve.

More about this program
In 2020, the Southern Rockies Seed Network conducted a study to determine the feasibility of creating a Strategic Seed Reserve (SSR) for Colorado's Front Range.

Through unanimous agreement from Phase I participants, the SSR Program is proceeding to Phase II: the creation of an organizational structure and operational plan.

Phase II includes three main tasks:
Planning & Strategy
SSR Organizational Structure
Operational Planning
SRSN will work with end users and the plant materials industry to:
Define ecological recovery zones and species lists
Facilitate pooled demand for plant materials within ecological recovery zones
Based on pooled demand, identify plant materials development strategies
Explore questions such as: the need for a seed storage and cleaning facility
Develop collaborative agreements
Outline funding strategies
Create an operational plan
Your participation is essential to help build this program along Colorado's Front Range. We will outline the next steps, field your most important ideas and questions, and provide the opportunity to become more engaged in developing plant materials for your region.
