In 2022 and 2023 the Be Like Kat Foundation gave scholarships to SEVEN amazing young people. This felt like an impossible task given the incredible quality of ALL of the applicants - and yet still these young people stood out. We heard about hard work, determination and overcoming adversity— but mostly we hear about being kind, being inclusive and raising others up.

You probably know that Kat was an avid skier- with her family and her friends. You may have even heard stories of Kat and her brother and cousin wreaking havoc on the tow ropes where they were goofing around when one of them fell, causing quite the pile up. (Maybe in this instance don’t be just like Kat 😉). But we also know Kat’s kindness and generous spirit and willingness to help and we know that Sugarbush, where she often skied with the Warchol family, was a very special place for her. That’s why Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sport was chosen as one of the Be Like Kat community partners. “Vermont Adaptive provides a place for adults and children with disabilities to gain self confidence and independence “ by adapting sports like skiing at Sugarbush so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
