The Backwoods Visitors Center & Community Shoppe The Backwoods is a nonprofit community space rooted in opportunity. Offerings change throughout the year, where not every season may look the same.

We make room for ideas, art, craft, land-based work, and community-led efforts as capacity allows. THE IDEA in short: local art and crafts gallery, fresh local produce and foodstuffs, Art Experimentation Center for sharing and learning, and Visitors' Center full of local information. We could be on our way to foster a sustainable future for our mountain community. The Backwoods would like to creat

EVERYONE living in the mountain communities are welcome to participate! You may never have to worry about a "real" job, or spending the extra time, money, and risk commuting to town for necessities ever again!
