Troop 36 enjoying a day of skiing and snowboarding at Hunter Mountain, NY. Lots of fun and learning. New experiences for some and enhancing skills for other. The Scouts had a blast and I expect more winter sports to be on the list for activities in years to come. Great job Scouts!!! Thanks to the adults that gave up their weekend to allow our youth to have this opportunity.

2026 CAPRIO MUSIC COMPETITION INVITES APPLICATIONS DUE MARCH 16, 2026

Prizes for classical music students in NY, NJ and PA

The Riverside Symphonia, a professional orchestra serving audiences of the Delaware Valley, is pleased to accept applications for the 2026 Caprio Young Artists Competition which will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at South Hunterdon Regional High School, Lambertville, NJ. This competition provides a unique opportunity for exceptional young musicians to win cash prizes, perform with a professional orchestra and work with world-class conductor Mariusz Smolij, Music Director and Conductor of the Riverside Symphonia. The First Prize is $2000 and a performance with the Riverside Symphonia in its next season. The Second Prize is $1000 and the Third Prize is $500. Classical music students (excluding keyboard) who live or study in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania and who will be no more than 22 years of age on April 18, 2026 are eligible to apply. The application and audition deadline is March 16, 2026. For more information, please email: [email protected]. The premiere performance Hunterdon Symphony’s SEVEN STORIES OF OLD HUNTERDON, a very special Concert for Young People to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 3:00 pm at Clinton Township Middle School.

The original score was written by Lawrence Kursar. The illustrations were drawn by Charlotte Molter. Below is the program, with the list of stories and the Hunterdon County towns and townships they represent, written by local writer-historians.

Note that the concert is slightly longer this year and includes an intermission.
Purchase tickets online at hunterdonsymphony.org. Adults $10; children and and students 18 and under are only $5, a Hunterdon Symphony tradition for this concert.
