Thank you to those who came out to attend our 2025 Fishing Derby! Despite the rain we had nearly 100 kids in attendance. Unfortunately, we did have to wrap up early, but we’ll be back again next year!!

Thank you to Hoffman’s Supply for donating the bait and to Washington Township’s Department of Public Works for preping the property around the pond!

On March 7, 2025 Newark Police Detective Joseph Azcona was involved in a shooting while conducting an investigation. Det. Azcona succumbed to his injuries the following day.

On March 14, 2025 Lt. Christopher Bratus, Lt. Michael Hade, and Cpl. Derek Heymer attended the funeral service for 26-year-old Det. Azcona. He had served with the Newark Police Division for five years. He is survived by his mother, father, and five siblings.

Our heartfelt condolences are with Det. Azcona’s family and the entire Newark Police Department during this difficult time.
