Please join us at 5:00 pm this Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Long Lake Town Hall for a presentation by Matt Burnett, Adirondack Guide. Based in Saranac Lake, native Matt Burnett has spent most of his life in the Central Adirondacks. He grew up in what is now the William C. Whitney Wilderness Area and is a licensed NYS guide. Join us as Matt shares stories about his family’s history, guiding, canoe trips & other Adirondack adventures.

Our annual meeting will be held after the presentation. Approximately 6:00 pm.

Light refreshments will be served.

Please join us at 5:00 pm this Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Long Lake Town Hall for a celebration of Long Lake Central School's
100 year anniversary. Hallie Bond, Town Historian, will provide a brief history of the school buildings through the years. Long Lake natives and locals will discuss what it was like to attend the school. In addition, there will be an exhibit of photos and documents.

Light refreshments will be served.

LLHS is back from our hiatus and will be resuming programs this summer!

Please join us at 5:00 pm this Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Long Lake Town Hall for a book talk and signing by local author, Gail Huntley. Her long awaited book, In a Blaze of Fire, has just been published. Gail will be providing highlights and answering questions about her publication and her craft.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Long Lake Historical Society board has decided to take a hiatus from programs until May 2025. This decision was made due to difficulty in booking speakers and a lack of volunteers to run programs and events.

If you, or anyone you know, would be willing to volunteer and help in May, please reach out and let us know.

The Long Lake Historical Society would love to see everyone at our next speaker program this Monday, October 28, 2024 at 5:00 pm at the Long Lake Town Hall. The Friends of the Tuscarora will be discussing its history and current restoration project. All of our speaker programs are open to the public and free. Donations appreciated.
