In coordination with the two-hour late start for Orono Schools, the Orono Activities Center (OAC) will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 16.

The Orono Activities Center (OAC) will be closed on Sunday, March 15, 2026 due to the National Weather Service warnings for heavy snow and blizzard conditions.

The OAC will remain open until 9 p.m. this evening (Saturday, March 14) and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, March 16 unless conditions do not allow for safe travel. Members can look for updates via email or on the OAC website.

The Orono Activities Center will be closed on Thursday, June 19. We look forward to welcoming you back on Friday, June 20 with regular hours.

In honor of Juneteenth, the Orono School District will be closed on Thursday, June 19. There will be no Community Education classes or programming, including aquatics. Additionally, the Activities Center, the Orono Discovery Center, and the Community Education office will also be closed.

To prioritize the safety and well-being of our community and staff, the Orono Activities Center will delay opening until 8 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in response to the extreme cold warning issued by the National Weather Service.

After-school and evening activities and athletics, Community Education evening classes, and facility rentals will be held as scheduled.

As always, student, staff, and community safety is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

To prioritize the safety and well-being of our community and staff, the Orono Activities Center will delay opening until 12 PM (noon) on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in response to the extreme cold warning issued by the National Weather Service.

After-school and evening activities and athletics, Community education evening classes, and facility rentals will be held as scheduled.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, Orono Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to the recent National Weather Service extreme cold warning for our area.

Per our district inclement weather plan for full-day closing, the following programs are also closed/canceled:

ECFE programs
full-day Preschool
Discovery Kids
Spartan Kids
daytime Community Education programming

NOTE: After-school and evening activities and athletics, Community education evening classes, and facility rentals will be held as scheduled.
