We need volunteers:
We have upcoming events with your opportunities to volunteer. Please, let me know if you are interested in volunteering. Most of the committee work is 4 to 8 hours per month and will end when the program is complete, so it is not a large nor a long-term commitment. Currently, we are looking for volunteers to be on the Steak-N-Scotch and the Chapter Retreat committees. Feel free to contact me for more details about the events below or other opportunities.

Meetings and Events:

Sukkah Build: The Men's Club will build the Sukkah on Sunday, 09-20-2026 at 9AM (Kol Nidre Morning). Please bring free-standing ladders, power drills, gloves, hammers, ratchets, etc... New members are welcome. Volunteers, please text or email to Jeff Carter if you can be there for all or a part of it. The more people we have to build, the faster and easier it will be.

Steak and Scotch in the Sukkah:
Committee meeting: Our next meeting is Tuesday, 08/25/2026 at 6:30 on Zoom only. I will send the Zoom link to the committee. Volunteers still needed.

Meetings and Events coming up:

Our next Club meeting: Tuesday, September 15th at 8 PM. All members are welcome (Only Officers and Board Members can vote)

Steak-N-Scotch in the Sukkah Banquet: Wednesday, September 30th starting at 5:45. This is our premiere event. I hope everyone can make attend. Volunteers needed.

Project Isaiah: Our food collection program to support the ARK Food Pantries. We will have two Drop Off times (September 15that 4:15 to 6:15) + (Before Kol Nidre Service).

CBJ Men's Club Retreat: Save the date (January 9-10, 2027) at Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin. Volunteers Needed

The documentary named "The Response " is about the RUN4LIVES.ORG movement and what WE did/do. It will be in theaters in October. I would like to organize a time for us to go together. Stay tuned for updates.

Time Sensitive: Act TODAY Against BDS
A bill that would repeal Illinois' decade-old anti-BDS law is being heard by a committee in the Illinois House of Representatives. We need your help TODAY to stand with the Jewish community and defeat this repeal effort. You can help do this by submitting a witness slip stating your opposition to this BDS bill. Even if you have already filled out a witness slip opposing the bill, we request that you do so again.
Our goal is for the International Relations Tourism and Trade Committee members to go into their April 30 hearing knowing that the Jewish community is squarely opposed to this BDS bill (HB2723). We don't have long to submit witness slips, and we need Committee members to know where we stand!
Witness slips are a critical tool to demonstrate public support or opposition to state legislative initiatives, and strength in numbers is essential to making the position of our community clear to state legislators. BDS supporters from across Illinois and the nation are mobilizing and submitting witness slips in favor of this bill – we need your help to counter their efforts.
Click this link and use the following instructions to have your voice heard:
SUBMIT A WITNESS SLIP
Step 1: Complete the "Identification" section. For "Firm/Business/Agency" put "NA" unless you are representing an organization.
Step 2: Fill out the "Representation" section by entering "Self"
Step 3: Fill out the "Position" section.
1. Click the white box that says "Add Subject Matter" and then select "HB 2723"
2. Click the white box that says "Add Position" and then select "Opponent" (Double check to make sure you selected the correct option).
3. Click the blue "Add Position" button
Step 4: Fill out the "Testimony" section by clicking only "Record of Appearance Only"
Step 5: Select box next to "I Agree to the ILGA Terms of Agreement"
Step 6: Select "I'm not a robot" and then click "Submit Witness Slip"
That's it...you've registered your opposition to this anti-Israel bill!
